Applescotti is a hybrid grown and sold by Preferred Gardens, a family-owned cannabis brand founded by David Polley. It crosses Apples and Bananas with Biscotti, and the breeder credit goes to Kristian Kulture.
Its lab numbers stand out. A June 2025 certificate of analysis from Modern Canna measured Preferred Gardens' Applescotti flower at 25.7% total THC and 30.5% total cannabinoids.
A legacy brand with no outside investors
Preferred Gardens has been cultivating since 2005 and was formally founded in 2015. On Weedmaps, the brand says it was prominent in the medical market long before legalization. It describes itself as a legacy cannabis brand, family-owned and operated, with no investors.
The company's site lists operations in California, Arizona, Florida and New York, with license numbers shown for its Florida and California businesses. Its catalog covers mixed-light flower, solventless extracts, pre-rolls and rosin edibles.
The 2025 Applescotti test sample came from Homestead, a cultivation and processing facility, and was labeled as Preferred Gardens cannabis flower.
Apples and Bananas meets Biscotti
The fruit side is Apples and Bananas. Leafly lists it as a cross of Now N Later and Jet Fuel Gelato, classed as an indica-leaning hybrid that tests at 20% THC or higher. It holds a 4.6-star rating across 388 ratings.
Leafly names caryophyllene, limonene and linalool as the dominant terpenes in Apples and Bananas. Its users most often report happiness, euphoria and an uplifted mood, and many describe the effects as energizing despite the indica lean.
The other parent is Biscotti, an indica-dominant South Florida OG × Gelato #25 cross. Connected Cannabis Co. created it in 2016 and pitched it as the next great evolution of the Gelato family.
Connected lists beta-caryophyllene, limonene and beta-myrcene as Biscotti's leading terpenes and notes that the profile shifts from batch to batch. Leafly rates Biscotti hard to grow, with short to medium plants, a medium yield and 8–9 weeks of flowering.

Preferred Gardens calls Applescotti a sticky result of breeding two powerhouse strains. The brand highlights buds with purple hues throughout, and its product listing sums up the flavor as gas, candy and funk.
The Weedmaps listing tags the effects creative, euphoric, focused, relaxed and uplifted. It describes waves of euphoria that settle into clear-headed focus.
Test results from the 2025 COA
The Modern Canna certificate was completed on June 24, 2025. Beyond 25.7% total THC, it recorded 2.94% total terpenes.
Beta-caryophyllene led the terpene profile at 1.01%, followed by limonene at 0.654% and alpha-humulene at 0.289%. Alpha-bisabolol and alpha-pinene rounded out the top five at 0.143% and 0.138%.
That caryophyllene-and-limonene lead matches the top terpenes Leafly lists for Apples and Bananas and Connected lists for Biscotti.
A separate eighth listed on Weedmaps tested at 24.42% THC, 0.03% CBD and 3.30% total terpenes.
Flower, joints and live resin
Preferred Gardens sells Applescotti in several formats. Its Weedmaps catalog lists 3.5g bags of buds and a 2g hand-rolled joint.
The strain also appears in the brand's extract line. Preferred Gardens offers Applescotti as a 0.5g live resin disposable, 1g live resin badder and 1g live resin sauce, carrying the same Apples and Bananas × Biscotti genetics from flower into concentrate.
