Biscotti is an indica-dominant hybrid that Connected Cannabis Co. created in 2016 from South Florida OG × Gelato #25. Connected pitched it as the next great evolution of the Gelato family, and the strain has since been name-checked in numerous songs.
Its biggest mark came as a parent. Biscotti sits in the lineage of Permanent Marker, the Seed Junky Genetics cross that Leafly named its Strain of the Year in 2023.
Connected's 2016 Gelato-era cross
Connected started in 2010 with a 5,000-square-foot room and 36 lights, with half the space given to breeding and pheno hunting. Biscotti arrived six years later, in 2016, as a Connected original.
Connected still lists Biscotti among its legacy strains, next to Gelonade, Gelato 41, Rainbow Sherbet 11 and Gushers. The company says it has kept refining how it grows, harvests and packages the cut, and it grows from California operations in Sacramento, Stockton and San Francisco.

South Florida OG meets Gelato #25
The OG side is South Florida OG, which gives Biscotti its OG backbone. The Gelato side is Gelato #25, one of the numbered keepers from the original Gelato hunt.
Leafly lists Gelato 25 as a balanced hybrid from Thin Mint Girl Scout Cookies × Sunset Sherbet, credited to Cookie Family Genetics. That puts Biscotti one step from the same Cookies and Sherbet cross behind the rest of the Gelato line.
Leafly records Biscotti as indica-dominant, testing around 20–21% THC. Its users most often describe it as tingly, relaxed and creative, with effects that build slowly.
A hard plant with a short frame

Seed Junky Genetics turned Biscotti into a building block. The breeder crossed it with Sherb BX1, then bred that line to Jealousy. That recipe produced both Permanent Marker and Purple Octane.
Permanent Marker is (Biscotti × Sherb BX) × Jealousy. Leafly credits JBeezy of Seed Junky with breeding and growing it, while Doja Pak made the selection and sells it under Doja Exclusive. Leafly named Permanent Marker its Strain of the Year in 2023.
Purple Octane runs the same recipe as (Biscotti × Sherb BX1) × Jealousy F2. Seed Junky pushed that selection toward deep purple color and a fuel-heavy profile, and Leafly lists it as an indica.
Both strains keep Biscotti's Gelato #25 thread alive a generation later. That gives the 2016 Connected cross a second life as parent stock for an award-winning Seed Junky line.
