Bubble Bath is Lost in Translation's cross of The Soap and Project 4516, an indica-leaning hybrid that took its name straight from its parent. Fog City Farms cultivated the batch documented here. Where It Comes From
LIT Farms built Bubble Bath during the early-2020s stretch when The Soap and Project 4516 were both peaking as breeding stock. The pairing made sense on paper and made more sense in practice, and licensed producers picked it up quickly.
Fog City Farms, Cresco, and others have since run their own Bubble Bath. Numbered selections circulate too — Bubble Bath #16, #22, and #70 — along with F2 seed lines from third-party banks.
Those numbers mark different phenotype hunts or producer programs rather than different crosses. A #70 and a #22 can look and behave meaningfully differently while sharing the same parents, so the number on the package is doing real work.
The Cross
Lost in Translation, usually written LIT Farms, is credited with the original cross. Both parents are borrowed prestige from other houses, which is worth knowing before you pay up for the name.
The Soap is a Seed Junky Genetics plant and the flagship of the Minntz brand, a collaboration between Cookies, Seed Junky, and Grandiflora. It debuted at the Emerald Cup and was never released as seed, staying clone-only, which kept supply tight and demand loud.
Project 4516 is Grandiflora Genetics' indica-dominant selection, documented as Gelato 45 crossed with Platinum Puff. It supplies the Gelato-family weight, the colour, and most of the physical side of the finished plant.
Commercial flower frequently runs dense and forest-green with purple sections, orange-to-brown pistils, and heavy trichome coverage. Phenotype, cultivation, harvest timing, dry, cure, and storage move all of it, which is why two jars carrying the same name can look like different plants.
What It Left Behind
Bubble Bath took first place in the Sungrown Greenhouse Flower category at the 2023 Emerald Cup Awards, entered by Chameleon Craft.
Credit where it belongs: LIT Farms bred the genetics, Chameleon Craft grew the winning entry. Those are two different achievements, and menus blur them constantly.
Greenhouse flower winning a top category mattered on its own terms too. Sungrown and greenhouse material spent years treated as the cheap tier next to indoor, and a first-place finish in that category is a useful counterargument.
That placement is widely credited with accelerating the strain's commercial spread. The F2 seed lines and the numbered cuts that followed are the clearest evidence of its pull as breeding stock — nobody makes F2s of a plant nobody wants.
