Kush Mints is Seed Junky Genetics' cross of Bubba Kush and Animal Mints, out of Southern California in the late 2010s. It welds Cookies-family frost and a cool mint top note onto an older Kush base of earth, coffee and spice. Dense, resin-caked flower gave it the bag appeal that pushed mint genetics across modern menus, and the session it is known for opens light and lands heavy.
Where It Comes From
Seed Junky started in the early 2000s in a Southern California garage, where breeder JBeezy's pheno-hunting produced Wedding Cake, Ice Cream Cake, The Soap, Jealousy and hundreds more. Kush Mints came out of that program in the late 2010s, and it did not arrive on a trophy.
It moved quietly at first and built its position on word of mouth rather than competition wins — one of the cleaner examples of a cultivar that spread on grower and consumer enthusiasm alone. Within a couple of years it was standard on California menus and moving into other legal markets.

The original Seed Junky cut is effectively clone-only, and most of the seed material circulating under the name comes from other seed banks working the same pairing.
