Fire OG is Cali Connection's OG: Swerve's SFV OG Kush F3 crossed to Raskal's OG Kush clone. It sits deep in the Southern California OG family and reads accordingly, a classic-lane plant with none of the dessert sweetness that dominates newer menus.
Where It Comes From
Fire OG comes out of the Los Angeles clone-only OG era, when a handful of breeders were working to stabilize cuts that had circulated hand to hand and had never existed as seed. Swerve, the founder of Cali Connection, built his reputation on exactly that work with the San Fernando Valley's OG Kush selections.
SFV OG's own path is usually traced from Tahoe to Orange County to the San Fernando Valley before Swerve introduced it more widely. Fire OG is what happened when he crossed that work back into another prized OG cut instead of reaching outside the family for something new.
That decision is the whole personality of the plant. The dominant instinct of the era was to widen a gene pool. Swerve narrowed one, and the result is a cultivar that still reads as OG rather than as an OG-flavored hybrid.
The Cross
Swerve built Fire OG by crossing his SFV OG Kush F3, an SFV OG x Afghani #1, with Raskal's OG Kush, a cut he called "one of the most amazing ogs there is, a pure og in its truest form."
Crossing two closely related OG expressions concentrates the family traits instead of diluting them, which is why Fire OG reads as more OG than most OG hybrids rather than as a blend of two different things. Raskal's OG Kush is itself a Cali Connection release built from the same SFV OG Kush alongside Raskal's fire-cut OG clone, so the two sides of this cross are closer relatives than the names suggest.
Flower is compact and dense, sticky when broken apart, with prominent orange-to-red pistils that are commonly cited as the source of the name. Purple can show in some batches. Phenotype, cure, age and storage decide which traits lead, and any figure printed on a package describes that batch alone.
What It Left Behind
No competition placement is documented for Fire OG, and its standing does not need one. It rests on breeding influence: a Cali Connection cornerstone that shows up as a parent across the OG-heavy side of the modern catalog. Relentless Genetics, for one, used a Fire OG bx1 male to build the Fire Cookies line that produced Cherry Cookies.
That is the useful way to read a plant like this. Fire OG is less a jar you hunt than a spine you keep finding underneath other people's work, which is what happens when a breeder finally gets a family trait to sit still long enough to hand off.
