Garlicane is an In House Genetics cross of GMO and Slurricane, also seen under the descriptive name GMO Slurricane. In House made the pairing and carries the breeder credit, while the two direct parents place the cultivar at the meeting point of the Chem Cookies family and one of In House’s best-known house lines.
GMO Meets Slurricane
GMO supplies the selected Chem D and Forum GSC branch, and Slurricane supplies the In House line made from Do-Si-Dos and Purple Punch. Those deeper generations explain the family without replacing the direct cross. Garlicane is written most clearly as GMO by Slurricane.
GMO provides the parent history, while GMO Cookies explains the Mamiko seed family behind that clone. Garlicane is a descendant rather than an alternate title for either cultivar. Slurricane changes the family and In House receives credit for making the new cross.
An In House Genetics Release
In House holds the breeder credit for Garlicane and used its own Slurricane line as one side of the pairing. A later licensed grower can cultivate a commercial harvest, but that work does not replace the company that created the cross.
The alternate GMO Slurricane wording is useful because it states the parents directly. It describes the same cultivar rather than a second line, allowing Garlicane to keep a short name while the family remains immediately legible.
Selection and Later Breeding
Seed-grown Garlicane plants can differ in structure, finish time, color, resin, and flavor balance. One may lean toward GMO, another toward Slurricane, and another may combine elements of both. Those differences are normal within a seed family and make the exact grower, selection, dates, and batch panel important.
In House later used Garlicane in Garlic Storm, pairing it again with a Slurricane selection. That later work shows Garlicane became breeding material inside the company’s program rather than a one-off title. The descendant does not rewrite Garlicane’s own GMO and Slurricane parent pair.
Garlicane Among GMO Descendants
An indica-dominant hybrid category gives Garlicane a broad shelf position without promising a fixed response. The selected plant and cultivation shape each harvest, while GMO by Slurricane remains the stable family created by In House Genetics.
GMO Crasher offers a useful comparison among GMO descendants. Pacific Reserve paired the family with Wedding Crasher, while In House paired it with Slurricane. Shared GMO ancestry makes them relatives, but the second parent and breeder give them separate histories.
Garlicane also became a parent in Garlic Storm, where In House paired it again with a Slurricane selection. That return to the Slurricane branch shows deliberate continuity inside the breeding program and gives Garlicane a role beyond a single retail release.
The cultivar’s history is therefore compact but meaningful: In House Genetics joined GMO with Slurricane, selected plants from that family, and later carried Garlicane forward into additional breeding. The alias GMO Slurricane preserves the direct parent pair without changing the identity.
Because both parents were already influential, Garlicane can be understood as a deliberate bridge between two established breeding directions. In House used its own Slurricane work rather than pairing two outside names, which keeps the cross connected to the company’s continuing program.
