Goofiez is a hybrid from Compound Genetics, bred from Apples and Bananas × Jokerz #31. Compound released it as feminized seed under the stylized name Goofiez² as part of Jokerz Vol. 1, the first seed collection built around its prized Jokerz #31 cut.
What stands out in the garden is the bag appeal. Compound describes dark purple buds with tight calyxes, soft orange pistils and heavy trichome coverage, and says the line delivers high yields without trading away flower quality.
Jokerz #31, one plant out of 180
Jokerz #31 came out of a hunt at Waverider Nursery in 2020. Compound ran 180 plants and judged them on trichome development, plant structure, color intensity and terpene expression, then waited for the dried and cured flower before making a final call.
At that stage the #31 plant won out as the most flavorful and smooth smoke of the group. It then spent two years in tissue culture and environmental testing before Compound put it to work as a breeding parent.
Compound describes Jokerz #31 as a connoisseur cultivar and a unique twist on White Runtz, with powerful but relaxing effects. It typically tests at 27–30% THC or higher, with limonene, beta-caryophyllene and myrcene on top, and it is known for striking purple buds.
The Jokerz Vol. 1 lineup
Jokerz Vol. 1 paired that one plant with seven different partners. Goofiez² took Apples and Bananas. Glue 31 used GG4, Strawberry Skrilla used Red Pop, and NYC Vapor used NYC Diesel.
The rest of the set was Inside Joke with Banana Cream Pop #13, Candy Bezels with Eye Candy, and Candy Packz with Lemon Cherry Gelato. Every pack in the collection has since sold out, Goofiez² included.
The structure of the drop is the point. One selected parent, seven different partners, and a grower can compare how Jokerz #31 behaves next to lines as different as GG4, NYC Diesel and Lemon Cherry Gelato.
Compound kept using the #31 cut after the first volume. Later releases such as Trillianz (Triangle Kush S1 × Jokerz #31) carry the same parent into new crosses.
Apples and Bananas on the other side
Apples and Bananas is a recurring Compound parent. Besides Goofiez², the seed shop has paired it with West Coast Diesel and with The Menthol to make A.B. Parfait.
In Goofiez, that parent brings the fruit. Compound describes fruity notes from Apples and Bananas meeting the candy-gas profile of the Jokerz line, with some plants picking up floral and creamy traits.
Growing and smoking Goofiez
The seed line came in 3-, 7- and 13-seed packs, priced at $80, $160 and $250. Compound notes wide variation between plants. Most finish within an 8-week bloom, while some run to 9 weeks.
That spread matters to anyone running a pack. Across the phenotypes Compound grew out, the consistent traits were tight calyxes and dense trichome coverage, which is what makes the line a candidate for a keeper hunt rather than a uniform crop.
Leafly lists Goofiez at about 28% THC, with some batches in the 20–24.8% range. Reviewers there call it creative, giggly and euphoric, an uplifting daytime pick rather than a sedating one, and rate it 4.8 out of 5.
