MAC 1 is the original Miracle Alien Cookies selection from Capulator, an old-school grower once known on cultivation web forums. He crossed Alien Cookies F2 #7 with a plant called Miracle 15 and first germinated the MAC1 seeds on January 1, 2016.
The seeds became a collector's item almost immediately. Capulator auctioned the remaining seeds from that first MAC1 batch on Instagram for $15,000, a price Cannabis Now called a record at the time.
Miracle 15 and the washing machine
The father comes with a story of its own. Capulator built it by crossing Starfighter, bred by Alien Genetics, with a Colombian plant he sourced while traveling in South America.
About eight years before Cannabis Now told the story in 2019, he left those seeds in his pocket and ran them through a washing machine. His partner rescued them and set them in a wet paper towel to germinate. Every seedling died except number 15, which is where the name Miracle 15 comes from.
Alien Cookies F2 #7 on the mother side
The mother is plant #7 from an Alien Cookies F2 population bred by JAWS. Leafly credits Jaws Gear Genetics with Alien Cookies, a cross of GSC and Aliendawg, and lists MAC 1 among its offspring alongside Cap Junky.
Capulator pollinated the Alien Cookies at day 25 of flower and harvested at day 63. From pollination to viable seeds, the process took about six months. Leafly also carries a nickname for the result, Capulator's Cut, a nod to how selective he was about who received it.
How MAC spread from Chalice to the rest of the scene
Capulator did not release MAC widely at first. He gifted it to respected growers with a long-term passion for cultivation, and the first MAC seeds went out at Chalice in 2016.
That gatekeeping is part of the MAC legend. Cannabis Now's 2019 feature on the cultivar shows MAC grown by Meraki Gardens, and the magazine traces the cut from Capulator's first seed run through its spread among trusted growers.
MAC then became a parent in its own right. Leafly lists Mac and Cheese and Cherry MAC as MAC 1 offspring. Spritzer also draws on it, crossing Runtz with a Grape Pie × MAC line, and Leafly points to MAC for Spritzer's crystal-heavy look.
What MAC 1 looks like in the garden
Leafly rates MAC 1 as hard to grow, with short to medium height, medium yields and an 8–9 week flowering time. It lists typical potency at 22% THC with about 1% CBG, names limonene, pinene and caryophyllene as the dominant terpenes, and prices seeds at $10–15 each.
The payoff is visual. Leafly describes buds that are nearly white and drenched in milky trichomes, and calls it an Instagram-worthy strain. Cannabis Now adds that well-grown MAC shows faster growth and better yields than pure Alien Cookies, even with slower vegetative development.
Cannabis Now describes the effect as uplifting, mood-lifting and conversational. Leafly users report a happy, euphoric and relaxed high, and note the plant leans energizing overall.
