Orange Bellini is a Maven Genetics sativa made from Orange Truffle Soufflé and Peach Crème Gelato. Maven bred and cultivated the flower, joining a bright citrus-led parent with a peach-and-cream counterpart. The cultivar earned first place in Sativa Flower at the 2023 High Times Cannabis Cup SoCal People’s Choice edition, then continued inside Maven’s breeding work as a parent of Orange Sapphire.
A Maven House Cross
Maven presents Orange Bellini as an in-house cultivar rather than a renamed outside cutting. The direct parent pair remains the clearest foundation for its identity: Orange Truffle Soufflé contributes the orange-centered side, while Peach Crème Gelato brings ripe stone fruit and a creamy Gelato-family foundation.
Peach Crème Gelato also stands on its own in Maven’s catalog. Its role here is parental, not synonymous. Orange Bellini is the next generation selected from the pairing, with its own sativa classification and competition history.
Orange Truffle Soufflé Meets Peach Crème Gelato
The cross combines citrus peel, grapefruit, peach, cream, pine, and earth within one fruit-forward family. Those broad directions explain the Bellini title without turning the name into a literal recipe. Plant selection, cultivation conditions, harvest timing, drying, and storage can shift which elements lead in a finished lot.
The direct lineage also prevents confusion with other orange-named cultivars. Key Lime Jack reaches bright citrus through Bling Cheesecake and Jack Herer, while Orange Bellini begins with two Maven parents. Similar fruit language does not establish a genetic relationship.
The 2023 SoCal Cup Victory
High Times placed Maven Genetics’ Orange Bellini first in Sativa Flower at the 2023 SoCal People’s Choice Cannabis Cup. The result belongs to the named flower, brand, division, region, and year. Keeping those details together preserves the scale of the achievement without extending it to unrelated harvests or products.
The win gave Orange Bellini a defined milestone beyond its release. Consumer judging placed it ahead of the other submissions in that division, validating Maven’s selected expression on competition terms. The award also arrived before Maven used the cultivar more visibly as breeding material, giving the family a clear transition from finished flower to parent stock.
From Cup Winner to Breeding Parent
Maven later crossed Orange Bellini with Blue Lotus to create Orange Sapphire. That descendant carries the citrus branch forward while adding another Maven parent. Orange Bellini therefore occupies two roles in the company’s history: a commercial sativa with a major placement and a retained plant used to form another named cultivar.
That continued use says more than a seasonal fruit title. Breeding requires a plant to contribute traits worth carrying into another generation. In Orange Bellini’s case, Maven retained the combination of bright fruit, cream, pine, flower structure, and resin expression strongly enough to build from it again.
Orange Bellini’s stable identity is concise: Orange Truffle Soufflé by Peach Crème Gelato, bred and cultivated by Maven Genetics, classified by Maven as sativa, and awarded first place in the 2023 SoCal People’s Choice Sativa Flower division. Later harvests can vary in color and sensory balance, but those historical and genetic facts remain intact.
