Pleazure, styled PleaZure by the people who made it, is a Dweebs and Zhit hybrid selected by Wood Wide High Craft in Mendocino County. It took first for Indoor Cultivar at the 2025 Humboldt Showdown, which in Northern California is about as credible as a result gets.
One pack, one keeper
The origin story is refreshingly small. This did not come from a purchased line or a hunt through hundreds of plants under commercial pressure. It came from a single pack of seed gifted by John at Crane City Genetics, popped by a crew who found one plant worth keeping and built a release around it.
That is how most great cuts actually happen, and how few of them get described. The capital Z in the brand's spelling nods at the ZHit side of the cross, which traces back into the Zkittlez family that reshaped California's candy-and-fruit lane.
Mendocino indoor, done deliberately
Wood Wide High Craft came online in fall 2022 as one of Mendocino County's small number of licensed indoor cultivators. Mendocino is outdoor country by reputation, built on sun-grown farms and generations of hill culture, so running a licensed indoor room there is a deliberate choice rather than a default.
Being a few years into licensed production and taking a first-place cultivar award against Humboldt competition is not a normal trajectory. It suggests the room is being run tight and the selection was the right one.
What the selection was chasing
Credit splits cleanly between two parties: Crane City made the seed, Wood Wide made the selection. That distinction matters more here than the pedigree does, because another seed from that same pack would have produced a different plant entirely.
The trait being selected for was terpene loading. Limonene, caryophyllene, myrcene and linalool lead the profile, which lands as white nectarine and lemon-vanilla sugar with genuine farmhouse funk sitting underneath it. It is bright on the front and dirty on the back, and that contrast is the whole appeal.
How it looks and how it lands
Flower comes out light green and chunky, purple-flecked, dense with trichome coverage and shot through with bright orange hairs. It is a photogenic plant that does not need a photographer to flatter it.
The experience runs calm and unhurried, indica-leaning without shutting the lights off. It is an evening plant that leaves room for company, which is a harder balance to hit than either extreme.
Buying and keeping it
A terpene-led cut like this rewards careful handling more than most. Heat and air are what strip the nectarine and lemon notes first, so a sealed jar kept cool holds the character that won the award far longer than a bag left on a counter.
Where it sits in the state
Pleazure belongs to the small-batch Northern California craft tier, the side of the industry that shows up at trade rooms like Hall of Flowers in NorCal rather than on every shelf in Los Angeles.
If the Zkittlez end of the family tree is what pulls you, Zkittles Mints runs the same candy foundation through a minty filter, and Runtz remains the reference point for the whole category. The rest of the small-farm work sits in the High Rise strain library.
