Viper Cookies is the flagship of Wood Wide High Craft, a small indoor farm on the Mendocino Coast. Moxie Seeds bred it from Viper City OG and the Forum cut of Girl Scout Cookies, and Mendo Mikey hunted the keeper that Wood Wide now grows.
It is also the longest-grown cultivar in the Wood Wide garden. Wood Wide calls it indica dominant, and Skunk Magazine's strain report measured it at 23%–30% THC, with total terpenes reaching just over 2%.
Viper City OG meets the Forum cut
Moxie Seeds, listed on Leafly as Moxie 710, made the cross by pairing Viper City OG with Forum GSC. Leafly files the result as an indica-dominant hybrid built from Girl Scout Cookies and Viper genetics.
Girl Scout Cookies sits behind a long list of modern hybrids. GMO Cookies, Mamiko Seeds' cross of GSC and Chemdawg, pulls the Cookies side toward chem and garlic. Viper Cookies takes it somewhere else by pairing the Forum cut with an OG.
How Mendo Mikey found the keeper
Mendo Mikey hunted through Moxie's seeds to find the plant that became Wood Wide's Viper Cookies. He is part of the Wood Wide crew, and his pick has stayed in the garden longer than any other in-house cultivar. He has also spoken with Honeysuckle Magazine about the brand's holistic approach to growing.
Wood Wide describes the keeper as frosty, tightly packed purple flower. Its terpene lineup leads with myrcene and beta-caryophyllene, followed by limonene and linalool. The flavor opens with white star jasmine, citrus and mint, then finishes on toasted rice green tea and fuel.
Purple fade, dense flower and a quick finish
Skunk Magazine's report describes a sturdy plant with good internodal spacing and a quick finish time. The flowers come in dense and resinous, and they fade to purple during the final weeks of bloom.
Leafly's listing matches that picture, noting long buds with purple and green foliage under a crystal-like coat of trichomes. User reports there lean relaxed, euphoric and tingly, and 29 reviews average 4.5 stars. Leafly's dominant terpenes are caryophyllene, myrcene and limonene, close to the lineup Wood Wide reports. Wood Wide itself pitches the cultivar for game nights, campfires and winding down at the end of a long day.
Wood Wide's Mendocino program
Lifelong Mendocino County locals Mike Strupp and Ryan Birchard run Wood Wide. The brand launched in fall 2022 and calls itself the last independently owned, small-scale indoor cannabis operation on the Mendocino Coast. Its staff is 75% women and 100% Mendocino-based.
The facility runs 72 water-cooled LED lights and turns out 10-pound batches. Wood Wide frames its work as a continuation of the legacy practices Mendocino farmers built before legalization, with a focus on high-terpene, high-potency flower.
The farm has range beyond its flagship. Wood Wide's Pleazure won the award for highest terpene content in flower at the 2022 Emerald Cup. The brand has drawn coverage from LA Weekly, Rolling Stone, Skunk Magazine and Leafly, where several of its strains earned 95-point ratings.
