Viper Cookies is a Moxie Seeds cross of Viper City OG and Forum Girl Scout Cookies, hunted by Mendo Mikey and kept as the flagship cut at Wood Wide High Craft on the Mendocino Coast. It is one of the few modern cultivars where every hand it passed through has a name attached, and the farm has been running it longer than anything else in its lineup.
Where It Comes From
Moxie Seeds bred the cross. Mendo Mikey picked up the seed at a 2015 industry event in San Bernardino and hunted it on the Mendocino Coast, and Wood Wide High Craft kept the plant that came out of that hunt. Seed to selection to keeper, with no gaps in the middle, which is rarer than it should be for a cultivar this current.
Wood Wide itself is worth knowing before you buy the flower. The farm was founded by lifelong Mendocino locals Mike Strupp and Ryan Birchard, and it describes itself as the last independently owned small-scale indoor operation on the Mendocino Coast. Staff are entirely local hires, roughly three-quarters of them women.
Viper Cookies is not a rotating drop for them. It is the plant they have run longest, and the one the farm builds its identity around. That kind of commitment to a single selection is unusual in a market that turns its menu over every season.
The Cross
The cross is Viper City OG x Forum Girl Scout Cookies, bred by Moxie. Viper City OG is commonly listed as Lemon OG Kush x SFV OG, which puts citrus-tinged OG fuel and OG structure on that side of the pedigree. Forum GSC is the widely circulated Forum cut of Girl Scout Cookies, the selection responsible for the dough-and-resin backbone running through most of the Cookies family.
One distinction matters more than the family tree does. Seed-derived Viper Cookies plants and the specific Wood Wide keeper are not the same thing. Other expressions grown from the same cross can land somewhere entirely different from the farm's selection, so a jar carrying the name from an unrelated producer is not automatically the plant Wood Wide runs.
Structurally the keeper is consistent: tightly packed, frosty flower that washes from lime green toward deep purple as it ripens, on medium-stature plants with spear-shaped colas. Grow logs put flowering around 54 to 65 days. The farm lists myrcene, caryophyllene, limonene, and linalool in its profile.
What It Left Behind
No competition placement is documented for Viper Cookies, and nothing should be invented for it. Its footprint is longevity: a Mendocino farm's flagship for the better part of a decade, held through years when most operations on the coast were chasing whatever the market wanted that season. Staying with one plant that long is its own credential.
