Shady Apples is a hybrid bred and grown by Your Highness, the cannabis brand also known as Your Highness LA. It crosses Apple Fritter with the Kush Mints #11 cut, and Your Highness sells it as premium indoor flower in California, Nevada, Massachusetts, Oklahoma and Canada.
The strain has also moved into other breeders' work. Fig Farms used Shady Apples as a reversal pollen parent to build Shady Scotty, a newer cross with Biscotti.
Apple Fritter meets Kush Mints #11
Apple Fritter was put out by Lumpy's Flowers as a cross of Sour Apple and Animal Cookies. Leafly calls it a true hybrid, with an 8–9 week flowering time and a medium yield.
Kush Mints joins Animal Mints with Bubba Kush. Leafly lists it as a 50/50 hybrid that also finishes in 8–9 weeks and calls it rare at dispensaries. Shady Apples uses the #11 selection of that line.
Put together, the two parents carry a deep bench of classic genetics. Seedfinder traces the combined family back to Skunk #1, Northern Lights, Girl Scout Cookies and OG Kush.
Small-batch indoor flower from Your Highness
Your Highness calls Shady Apples a legacy strain and describes sticky, frosty buds packed with terpenes. Its listed terpenes are humulene, limonene and pinene. The flavor runs from gassy mint on the inhale to sweet apple pastry on the exhale.
The brand sells only through licensed retail partners. In Nevada, it grows small batches under its own state license and supplies retailers including Planet 13, where Shady Apples is one of its featured flower offerings.
Leafly lists the strain as a 50/50 hybrid with THC around 20%, and one batch there tested at 24.53%. Users on that platform describe an uplifting, euphoric start that settles into a calm, end-of-day finish.
What LA reviewers found in the jar
The Highest Critic reviewed Shady Apples in March 2020 and credited B of Your Highness as the breeder. The reviewer called the flower hella frosty and very sticky, and placed it on the indica side of hybrid.
The Fire Scale bought its sample at Dr. Greenthumbs in Los Angeles in early 2021, paying $60 plus tax. That batch tested at 29.25% THC. The package held one large 3.1-gram nug and two smaller pieces.
Those buds were dense but broke apart easily. The outside showed a frosty mix of greens, and the inside opened to bright purple. The reviewer described a medium-strength high with heavy body ease that leaned hazy rather than energetic, and gave it 7 flames.
Shady Apples #5 and the Shady Scotty cross
Crème Genetics has sold a numbered cut, Shady Apples #5, as a special collaboration with Your Highness Genetics LA. Its Weedmaps listing names the same Apple Fritter × Kush Mints 11 pairing and lists 28% THC in a 3.5g jar.
Fig Farms took the strain in another direction. It crossed Biscotti with Shady Apples to make Shady Scotty, which Fig Farms pheno hunted and grows. Fig Farms credits Your Highness as the breeder and classes the result as a hybrid indica.
Fig Farms frames Shady Scotty as an evolution of Biscotti for the next generation, built on Prop 215 genetics. It also points out that the Shady Apples side descends from Lumpy's Apple Fritter, which keeps that California family line running into a new cross.
