Blue Sage THC is a woman-owned cannabis topical company in Ventura, California, run by co-founders Tawnia Sodergren, the CEO, and Torane Phelps, the CFO. It makes one thing: a full-spectrum THC cream, sold in three versions through licensed dispensaries across the state. That cream took gold at the California State Fair in 2025 and again in 2026.
The lineup stays tight. Original, Orange Chai and Citrus Cedar share one base and one whole-plant infusion, and the company operates under the legal name West Beach Collective LLC.
From Prop 215 kitchens to a licensed brand
Sodergren came up in California's Prop 215 era, making cannabis edibles for dispensaries while building her own skincare line. She developed a whole-plant cannabis cream recipe that spread through her community. Leaf Magazines traces the concept to her Prop 215 work in Santa Barbara, before the brand launched in the licensed Prop 64 market.
Phelps joined in 2016, and the partnership turned a recipe into a company. Phelps brings a communications degree from Menlo College and a background in music event and tour production, graphic design and marketing.
The company offers employees profit-sharing and pledges a percentage of its profits each year to organizations that share its values. It sources ingredients locally and sustainably.
Sonoma Hills Farm flower and a petroleum-free base
The cannabis is sun-grown, regeneratively farmed California flower. In January 2026 My Green Network named Sonoma Hills Farm as the source, a Sun+Earth certified craft producer that was among the first California operations recognized as organic comparable.
The whole plant goes into full-spectrum cannabis oil rather than distillate, then into a base of shea butter, cocoa butter, hempseed oil, coconut oil, jojoba oil and vitamin E. The jojoba is itself infused with comfrey, calendula and helichrysum, and organic essential oils separate the three versions.
The formula leaves out petroleum, parabens, glycerin, dyes and alcohol. Blue Sage never tests on animals, and the cream carries a lab-tested certificate of analysis.
Production with My Green Network
Production runs through a partnership with My Green Network, a California company that holds state manufacturer license DCC 10004741 and distributor license C11-0001478-LIC. Blue Sage revisited that partnership at the end of 2024.
MGN says the arrangement gives Blue Sage operational expertise, compliance support and consistent production inside the regulated market, while the brand keeps its organic, ingredient-first formula. The Citrus Cedar cream that won in 2025 came out of that partnership.
Three State Fair medals in three years
The California State Fair turned into Blue Sage's scoreboard. The cream took silver in topicals at the 2024 California State Fair Cannabis Awards. Citrus Cedar took gold in topicals in 2025. Orange Chai then took gold in the topicals category at the 2026 California Cannabis Awards, held at the State Fair.
Budist scored Citrus Cedar at 94 points in October 2024 and 96 points in August 2025. Sespe Creek Collective in Ojai tags its Orange Chai listing with the 2026 gold.
Two jar sizes, three versions
The cream comes in two jar sizes. Budist listed a 1.75-ounce jar with 500 mg of THC and a 4-ounce jar with 1,000 mg in August 2025.
In September 2026, The Artist Tree's Irvine delivery menu on Weedmaps carried all three versions in 4-ounce, 1,000 mg jars at $85, with 500 mg jars at $54. Sespe Creek lists Orange Chai in a 50 ml jar at $60.
Forty-one stores from Ojai to San Francisco
Blue Sage's retailer list names 41 dispensaries across Southern, Central and Northern California, 27 of them in the south. Stockists include Sespe Creek Collective in Ojai, Green Qween in downtown Los Angeles, West Hollywood and Sherman Oaks.
The Artist Tree carries it in Beverly Hills, West Hollywood, Oxnard, Laguna Woods and Hawthorne. Closer to home, Legendary Organics in Thousand Oaks and Oxnard and 99 High Tide in Malibu work the Ventura County coast and its neighbors.
The Cake House carries the cream in Encinitas and El Monte, and the Cookies store in Mission Valley is on the list, too. XZIBIT's West Coast Cannabis in Bel Air and Rise Dispensary in Pasadena round out the Los Angeles-area roster.
Central California runs through The Artist Tree's two Fresno stores, Megan's Organic Market in San Luis Obispo and Big Sur Cannabotanicals in Carmel, with Halfpipe Cannabis in Seaside and Tree House in Soquel.
Up north, The Green Cross and Fig & Thistle in San Francisco, Jane Dispensary in Cotati and Healdsburg, and CBCB in Berkeley stock it. My Green Network's January 2026 profile named a tattoo THC balm and bath salts as the next Blue Sage releases.
