Founder and company identity
Focus V’s 2024 crowdfunding materials identify Sam Jurist as founder and CEO and place the company in Torrance, California. Legal records associate the products with SHO Products LLC and MasterMinded Inc. Those entities matter because the brand’s recent patent judgment names the companies rather than the consumer-facing Focus V label alone.
CARTA evolution
The original CARTA established Focus V in electronic concentrate rigs, followed by CARTA 2. The current flagship is CARTA SPORT, promoted with a larger battery, rugged design, one-button operation, Bluetooth connectivity and INTELLI-CORE compatibility. CARTA Classic is discontinued but still has support documentation.
AERIS and SABER
AERIS is the portable concentrate-vaporizer platform, with a swappable battery and compatible atomizer system. SABER is an electronic dab tool rather than a vaporizer rig. Treating both as “CARTA” obscures different use, charging and warranty instructions; each manual should control.
INTELLI-CORE and accessories
The INTELLI-CORE family includes oil, herb and MAX atomizers plus adapters. Focus V also sells glass tops, bubblers, swivel kits, silicone parts, cleaning supplies and artist glass. “Cross-platform” compatibility has limits, so buyers should use the product matrix before combining an atomizer, base and adapter.
App and connected features
The V Browser/Focus V app supports temperature adjustment, battery information, session customization, firmware and screensavers for compatible devices. Focus V also awards points for logged sessions. App availability and mobile-browser steps differ between iOS and Android, and connected features can change with firmware.
Warranty terms
Focus V offers limited device warranties to the original end user with dated proof of purchase and recommends registration. The CARTA SPORT manual specifies one year for defects in materials. The company states all sales are final and warranty coverage is not the same as a general return right; exact device terms must be checked before purchase.
Patent judgment
In 2024 a federal court entered a consent judgment in Puff Corp.’s favor. It states that CARTA OG/Classic and CARTA 2 infringed specified claims of Puffco’s U.S. Patent 10,517,334. The order immediately barred U.S. sales of CARTA OG and set July 19, 2025 as the start of the U.S. sales injunction for CARTA 2.
What the order means now
The judgment does not name CARTA SPORT, AERIS or SABER in the injunction. Focus V’s current U.S. site prominently sells CARTA SPORT and AERIS while support remains available for discontinued devices. Existing owners should use official support and warranty channels; an old CARTA 2 listing may be stale or unauthorized.
Awards and consumer checks. No reliable, current product-award ledger was found in Focus V’s official pages, SEC materials or court record, so no trophy claims are added. Before buying, verify the exact model, authorized seller, warranty and included atomizer. Follow charging and cleaning instructions; the products are not FDA-evaluated cessation or medical devices.
