Gelato Canna Co is a California cannabis brand founded in 2022 by father-and-son entrepreneurs George and Cody Sadler. It sells dessert-led flower, pre-rolls, vapes, concentrates and edibles through separately licensed operations in California, Michigan and Arizona.
Founders
George Sadler is cofounder and CEO; Cody Sadler is cofounder. Before Gelato, George cofounded and ran Platinum Vape, and much of the same team carried over. Janet Matula helps lead compliance, product development and brand operations. The company's stated motto is "Do what is right over what is easy."
California catalog
The California lineup covers 3.5-gram premium indoor flower, Sprinkles 14-gram smalls, Cookie Crumbs, 1.2-gram pre-rolls and Lolli's diamond-infused five-packs, full-gram Premium Cartridges in Classic, Original and Live Resin tiers, all-in-one vapes and one-gram non-CRC concentrate. Edibles include vegan, gluten-free gummies, 100-milligram Sugar Drop candies and Last Bite, chocolate-filled mini cones sold ten to a pack at 10 milligrams each.
Michigan and Arizona
Michigan products run under Pure X LLC, vendor license AU-P-000199 PR-000194, and the market-specific menu there includes a 200-milligram Fat and Weird cookie collaboration, First Bite cereal balls, a Dubai Chocolate bar, Snowball THCA flower, the two-gram Baller Brush applicator, Drizzle infused canola oil and live rosin gummies. Arizona carries cartridges across three tiers, all-in-ones, Baller Brush, Lolli's, gummies, concentrate and a four-flavor Last Bite.
Licensing
The California entry page displays distributor license C11-0001454-LIC. Sales run through licensed dispensaries via the brand's store locator rather than direct checkout, and Michigan and Arizona products are made by locally licensed partners, so the California number does not authorize production in those states.
2024 recall
On January 10, 2024, California's Department of Cannabis Control issued a mandatory recall for Gelato Orangeade hybrid flower distributed under Urban Therapies Distribution LLC, license C11-0001454-LIC, for Aspergillus flavus. The notice named batch GF-271 and source UID 1A406030003D735000164210.
