Master Makers is a California solventless brand, trading as Master Makers Solventless Extracts, that washes fresh-frozen cannabis into ice-water hash and presses it into live rosin, diamonds and vapes. It sources from partner growers "from the Emerald Triangle to the Santa Barbara hills" and ships its rosin in reusable Terp Vaults.
The 2026 résumé is stacked. Master Makers and Canyon Creek Family Farms took gold for Grapefruit Starburst Live Rosin at the 2026 California Cannabis Awards, and Headset ranked the brand No. 16 in California concentrates for August 2026, up from No. 25 a year earlier.
A community of growers and processors
The pitch is hash first. The brand's Weedmaps page opens with "We love hash. It's not just what we make, it's who we are," and promises "no shortcuts, no additives, no compromise."
Master Makers calls itself "not just a brand but a community" of California cannabis growers and processors. Partner farms supply the fresh-frozen material, and Master Makers handles the wash, the press and the packaging. Collaboration releases carry the partner's name, as the 2026 award entries with Canyon Creek Family Farms and Luma Farms show.
Minus 10 degrees and a 35-degree wash room
The cold chain starts at harvest. Fresh-frozen cannabis is held at -10°F until wash day, then washed in a 35°F cold room with zero-particulate reverse-osmosis water. The output is ice-water hash, the base for everything else on the menu.
Micron selection comes next. Before anything hits the press, the QC team picks a ratio of ice-water hash microns unique to each genetic.
Cold cure, fresh press, diamonds and vapes
The menu runs four solventless lines:
- Cold Cure Live Rosin: pressed from the matched micron blend, cured for several weeks, then hand-whipped.
- Fresh Pressed Live Rosin: pressed from ice-water hash and limited to the strains the team selects for the format.
- Solventless Diamonds: live rosin taken through gentle heat and high pressure over extended periods.
- Live Rosin Vapes: all-in-one devices filled in-house, each pre-programmed with a power curve for its genetic.
Weedmaps sorts the rosin into cold cure badder, Signature and Reserve tiers, with infused pre-rolls and gummies alongside. Cultivars on the brand page include Forbidden Melonz, GMOxOZ, Purple Papaya, Super Boof, Grilled Peaches, Garlic Juice and Wedding Cake.
Packaging is part of the program. The rosin ships in Terp Vaults, custom reusable coolers that block light and, by the company's count, keep rosin cold for two hours out of the freezer.
Purple Papaya's first State Fair medal
The medal count opened in 2025. At the California Cannabis Awards, decided at the California State Fair, Purple Papaya Reserve Cold Cure Live Rosin took silver in Concentrates – Solventless Live Rosin. Budist's Jocelyn Sheltraw published the results on June 24, 2025, ahead of the July 12 announcement at the fair.
Purple Papaya stuck. A year later the cultivar medaled again, this time as Makers Reserve Purple Papaya Ice Water Hash.
Three more medals at the 2026 awards
The 2026 awards brought gold, silver and bronze. Master Makers and Canyon Creek Family Farms won gold in Concentrates – Solventless Live Rosin for Grapefruit Starburst Live Rosin. Silver in the same category went to a four-way collaboration from BEAR Labs, Blue River Terps, Canyon Creek and Tychee Farms.
The hash category went two for three. Makers Reserve Purple Papaya Ice Water Hash took silver, and Master Makers x Luma Farms took bronze with Lemon Limez Makers Reserve Ice Water Hash. Moon Valley Cannabis won the gold with Neon Panther Ice Water Hash.
Budist posted the medalists on July 1, 2026, ahead of the Golden Bear trophy ceremony at the California State Fair on July 18, 2026.
The companies behind the jars
The site's privacy policy, updated April 27, 2023, names MAJ Services of Arvin, California, as the operator of Master Makers Solventless Extracts. Weedmaps lists the brand under microbusiness license C12-0000072-LIC, held by Broadway Alliance, LLC in Los Angeles County and active through June 13, 2027.
Climbing the California concentrates chart
Headset's September 6, 2026 snapshot counted 84 licensed California dispensaries carrying Master Makers. August 2026 sales were up 91.02% year over year, concentrates made up 92.96% of them, and the brand carried 80 SKUs at an average price of $29.45. Pre-rolls accounted for 4.55% of sales and edibles for 2.02%.
Cold cure leads the shelf. Headset's August 2026 top five opened with Motor Breath x Banana Punch Cold Cure Live Rosin, followed by GMO, Wedding Cake and Strawberry Crisp live rosin, and closed with Whitethorn Rose Cold Cure Live Rosin, all 1-gram units.
