Eli Buffalo and the early gardens

Living soil and natural farming indoors
The cultivation system uses thick no-till beds containing fungi, bacteria, worms, nematodes and other organisms that cycle nutrients. Moon Valley makes compost and plant ferments on-site and draws on Korean Natural Farming and biodynamic practice. Buffalo says he has used KNF since 2013 and learned through Sonoma viticulture, soil-biology study and Master Cho's methods.
Flower and named cultivars
Indoor flower is the base of the catalog, with cultivar names including Watermelon Z, Super Boof, Grape Gas, Hash Burger, Neon Panther and Panther Candy appearing in recent competition reporting. The official site describes the operation as Dragonfly Earth Medicine Conscious Indoor certified. Product batches and retailers change, so the store locator and package label remain the current availability record.
Solventless extracts and pre-rolls
The microbusiness also produces single-source solventless material from its own flower. Recent award entries include dual-consistency live rosin, hash and Neon Panther solventless-infused pre-rolls, alongside standard Grape Gas and Hash Burger joints. The single-source claim applies to Moon Valley's disclosed production chain; it should not be generalized to every future collaboration.
The first major sustainability trophy
Moon Valley won first place for Environmentally Conscious Indoor at the 2022 Emerald Cup. Buffalo has described that award as especially meaningful because it followed completion of the Santa Rosa facility and its first garden. It recognizes the cultivation operation in that competition, not an independent life-cycle assessment of every package or sale.
Nine trophies at the 2024 Emerald Cup
At the Emerald Cup's twentieth-anniversary competition in 2024, Moon Valley collected nine trophies. Its first-place results included a Neon Panther solventless-infused pre-roll five-pack and a non-infused Grape Gas one-gram pre-roll. Other placements included Panther Candy live rosin, Neon Panther hash and infused pre-roll, plus Hash Burger non-infused pre-roll.
State Fair and Zalympix recognition
The Press Democrat included Moon Valley among Sonoma County winners at the 2024 California State Fair cannabis awards. In 2026, Buffalo also identified Zalympix placements for Watermelon Z in Best Tasting and Super Boof in Best Terps. Each award belongs to a named batch and event year; the page does not convert those results into blanket potency or quality promises.
Licensing and what to verify. The official site names Moon Valley Organics Inc. and publishes California microbusiness license C12-0000314-LIC. It maintains a store locator rather than claiming owned dispensaries.
