Brand overview
Snowtill is a San Francisco indoor cannabis cultivator using no-till living soil. Founders Joseph Snow and Nate Landau developed the company from medical-era growing and research before entering California's licensed adult-use market. The brand focuses on small-batch flower, terpene disclosure and biological cultivation without synthetic nutrients or pesticides.
Joseph Snow and Nate Landau
Snow grew up in Israel and Landau in a different part of the country before meeting in 2015 at Landau's Proposition 215 grow in Trinity County. They founded a small medical grow in 2016, moved through consulting and research, and later established licensed production. Snow is chief executive; Landau is publicly identified as co-founder and operations leader.
What no till means
No-till cultivation keeps the same soil beds through repeated cycles rather than discarding or heavily disturbing them. Cover crops, mulch, microbes and other soil organisms cycle nutrients for plant roots. The name combines Snow's surname with the no-till method. Indoor environmental controls add precision while the soil remains biologically active.
Inputs and OCAL certification
Snowtill says it uses no synthetic pesticides or nutrients and creates no toxic nutrient runoff. The company is OCAL certified, California's comparable-to-organic cannabis program; cannabis cannot use the USDA Organic seal. Certification scope and current status should be verified rather than translated into a broader pesticide-free guarantee beyond the standard.
Flower and terpene labeling
Snowtill prints total cannabinoids, THC and terpene totals on labels to shift attention beyond THC alone. Featured cultivars have included Piescream, Carbon Fiber, Gouda, Galactic and other rotating selections. Values remain batch-specific, and a high terpene percentage does not alone determine flavor or quality.
Piescream provenance
Piescream was bred by Mean Gene from Mendocino and selected by Skunktek from Wedding Pie crossed with Cherry Limeade F5 and Gelato 33. Snowtill cultivated the award-winning batch. Keeping breeder, selector and cultivator credits separate is essential to accurate genetics history.
2024 State Fair medals
At the 2024 California State Fair Cannabis Awards, Snowtill's Piescream earned six Gold or Silver medals, including Gold for pinene, and the brand accumulated seven medals across its entries according to Leafly. These were chemistry- and judging-based results for submitted batches, not a permanent ranking of every Snowtill release.
Collaborations and availability
Snowtill has worked with extract partners such as Friendly on products using its flower. Collaboration packaging should identify who grew, extracted and manufactured the final item. Distribution is concentrated in California, especially Bay Area menus, and small batches can sell through quickly.
