Volcano Bong

Brand: Hemper Supply Co.

Price: $34.99

The HEMPER Volcano is a 7-inch borosilicate water pipe built to look like an erupting volcano — orange lava accents running up the body, a splash guard at the neck, and an inline percolator doing the filtration. It lists at $34.99.

The splash guard is the effect

Pull slowly and steadily and the splash guard produces the piece's signature trick: smoke curls back on itself in the neck so the chamber appears to erupt. Rush the draw and it does not happen.

Underneath the party piece, the guard is doing an ordinary job well — stopping water from climbing the neck toward your mouth, which is the most common annoyance on a short bong pulled hard.

Inline perc and a wide base

The inline percolator lies horizontally in the water with slits along its length, spreading smoke sideways across the chamber rather than sending it up in one column. On a 7-inch body, where there is little height for passive cooling, that lateral spread is what makes the pull land smooth.

A 2.75-inch base keeps it stable, and 3mm walls give it enough mass to survive daily handling rather than living as a display piece.

Who it's for

This is an entry-priced daily driver for someone who wants character in their glass without boutique money — and a genuinely fun piece to hand to someone who has not seen the effect before.

For other themed borosilicate at this tier, the Dankenstein Bong works a monster face and the Apple Cider Bong runs a shaped apple perc. More on the HEMPER brand page.

Keeping it clean

Percolated glass traps resin where a cloth will never reach. Change the water every couple of sessions, and once a week plug both ends and soak the chamber in isopropyl and coarse salt. Shake in short bursts rather than one long rattle, then rinse with warm rather than hot water so the glass never takes a thermal shock.
