Blue Agapē is an indica from Maven Genetics, the California indoor grower that breeds, phenotypes and cultivates its own catalog. It crosses Blue Lotus, one of Maven's house selections, with White Runtz.
It has already become a parent itself. Maven used Blue Agapē to build Opal, a limited-edition cross with Carbon Candy, which carries the Blue Lotus line one more generation forward.
Blue Lotus and the Black Box Series
The mother side is Blue Lotus, Maven's cross of XXX OG and Blue Gelato #41. Maven released it as the second edition of its Black Box Series, and the keeper beat out 12 phenotypes of the same cross.
XXX OG, a cross of XXX and OG Kush, is one of Maven's own hybrids. The same parent runs through Black Diamond X, which pairs it with Black Diamond OG. Blue Agapē inherits that OG backbone through Blue Lotus.
Blue Lotus has spread through the catalog. French Lotus crosses it with FKAFL, and Maven now sells Blue Lotus seeds in one of its featured collections.
White Runtz on the other side
Leafly describes White Runtz as a Gelato × Zkittlez hybrid, the same pairing behind Runtz, Leafly's 2020 Strain of the Year. White Runtz stands out for trichomes so thick the buds look white like snow.
Runtz itself came from the Cookies Fam and was popularized by the Runtz crew led by Yung LB out of Long Beach. Leafly counts at least 20 Runtz variations, including Pink Runtz and Blue Nerds.
Bringing that line into Blue Lotus gives Blue Agapē a modern candy parent on top of an OG base. Maven files the result in the indica column of its strain library, next to Blue Lotus, Prizm, Umami Butter and Black Diamond X.

Opal, the next generation
Opal is the Blue Agapē offspring on Maven's menu. The company lists it as an indica-dominant hybrid of Blue Agapē and Carbon Candy, released as a limited edition.
Maven describes Opal as violet-hued flower with copper pistils and a crystalline trichome coat. It sits in the limited-edition column beside Dulce De Miel, Parisian Kush and Fantasma.
How the flower reviewed
The Highest Critic reviewed Blue Agapē in September 2024, working from a half-ounce bag bought in California. The reviewer scored it 8.2 out of 10.
The buds came out dark and sugary, striking to look at but light on density, with more stem than the reviewer wanted. The smoke was smooth with no harshness. Effects leaned indica, starting functional before settling into a heavier body feel.
