Blue Agapē is a Maven Genetics indica from Blue Lotus x White Runtz, and the first release from Maven's Research & Development line. Maven leads with earth, spice and pine rather than sugar, and describes a mellow, long-lasting relaxing high. It has since become a breeding parent in its own right.
Where It Comes From
Blue Agapē launched as the debut of Maven's R&D line, a channel the brand uses to run phenotype hunts in public rather than behind closed doors. Maven narrows a hunt to a top two, then puts the finalists in front of the community. For Blue Agapē that came down to #9 versus #23.
Both were released, #9 won the vote, and it went into full production. Everything sold under the Blue Agapē name traces to that selection. The name borrows agapē, the Greek word for selfless or unconditional love, which fits Maven's habit of naming releases outside the usual candy-and-dessert vocabulary.
The Cross
Maven Genetics is both breeder and producer, and lists the genetics directly: Blue Lotus x White Runtz, classified indica.
The Blue Lotus side is the more interesting half. Maven built it from Blue Gelato #41 x XXX OG, selecting a winner from twelve phenotypes and releasing it as the second edition of its limited Black Box Series. Maven describes that parent as gassy and heavy with earthy notes and sweet undertones, so the darker, fuel-forward end of Blue Agapē has a clear source. White Runtz sits in the Gelato and Zkittlez family and supplies the candy-fruit and the frost.
Maven's own copy puts earth, spice and pine ahead of sweetness, and notes those notes sharpen when you break the bud — a useful tell, since plenty of frost-forward flower gives up nothing until it is opened. Maven emphasizes high terpene content and dense, well-formed indoor buds. Structure, colour and intensity still move with phenotype, environment, cure and storage.
Blue Agapē then became a parent itself. Maven crossed it with Carbon Candy to make Opal, the second release in its Artist Series, produced with graffiti artist Ryan Weston Shook, who works as SABER. A strain the breeder reaches for again is a strain the breeder trusted.
What It Left Behind
Its significance is structural: the strain that opened Maven's R&D line, chosen by public vote, and later the maternal side of an Artist Series release tied to a working graffiti artist.
Running a pheno hunt in public is the unusual move here. Most brands make the pick internally and present the winner as inevitable; putting #9 and #23 on shelves together and letting the room decide turns a selection into an event, and it gives the finished release a provenance customers actually participated in.
