Black Diamond X is an indica from Maven Genetics, the California grower that breeds and cultivates its own indoor catalog. It crosses what Maven calls its award-winning XXX OG with Black Diamond OG, aimed squarely at OG lovers.
It has also become one of the busiest parents in the Maven library. The company's strain list shows five direct offspring built on Black Diamond X, from Umami Butter to Fantasma.

XXX OG is a Maven house strain, listed in the hybrid column of its library. Maven's release post for Black Diamond X calls it "our very own award-winning XXX OG." The same parent shows up in Blue Lotus, which pairs XXX OG with Blue Gelato #41.
Black Diamond OG fills out the other side. Leafly lists it as an indica-dominant cross of Blackberry and Diamond OG. It is known for dense, gem-shaped buds with lime-green hues, touches of deep purple and heavy trichome coverage.
Maven's release post, written by Mike Mvn, pitched the result as a hard-hitting OG cross. The company promised the classic OG profile in a new combination, with both parents leaning heavy.

Maven describes the finished flower as colorful, dense and trichome-filled. The house copy calls the high a mix of full-body relaxation and a euphoric head buzz. On Weedmaps, the flavor tags read diesel, earthy and pine, with a savory edge.
Leafly lists Black Diamond X at 33% THC, well above the average for flower. Reviewers there most often tag it uplifted, euphoric and focused, and one noted that it hits almost instantly.
The classification shifts a little by platform. Maven files it as an indica, while Weedmaps and Leafly list it as a hybrid, and Maven's own product copy stresses the indica side of the cross.
A parent across the Maven catalog
Black Diamond X earns its keep as breeding stock. Maven's library lists five direct crosses built on it, all filed in the indica column. Umami Butter pairs Gelatti with Black Diamond X. Chroma crosses Prizm with Black Diamond X, and Fantasma matches it with Runtz.
The list continues with RS-X, a cross of RS-11 and Black Diamond X. Black Lotus pairs Blue Lotus with Black Diamond X, which brings XXX OG into the tree on both sides.
The line runs a generation deeper, too. French Butter crosses FKAFL with Umami Butter, making it a grandchild of Black Diamond X.
