Donut Peach is a hybrid from Seed Junky, the breeding house built by JBeezy. The brand lists it as Zkittlez × Animal Cookies BX2 IX. That pairs an Emerald Cup-winning candy line with a worked version of a classic Cookies cut.
The name comes from the flat peaches of ancient China, which Seed Junky ties to an old promise of immortality. Its flavor tags run peach rings, fresh and candy.
The flat peach behind the name
The donut peach is the same fruit sold as the Saturn, saucer or UFO peach. In China it was called pántáo, meaning coiled peach, and it features in the 16th-century novel Journey to the West.
The fruit is oblate, flatter than a standard peach, with yellow and red skin, less fuzz and white flesh. It reached the United States from China in 1869. Seed Junky borrows that story for a strain built from two American candy and Cookies lines.
A JBeezy cross from the Wedding Cake camp
JBeezy runs Seed Junky as a hands-on cultivator, and the brand credits relentless breeding and pheno-hunting for its catalog. The signature list includes Ice Cream Cake, Kush Mints, The Soap and Jealousy.
The biggest name on it is Wedding Cake, Leafly's Strain of the Year in 2019. Leafly lists it as Triangle Kush × Animal Mints, also known as Triangle Mints #23, and names Ice Cream Cake among its offspring.
The newer releases keep coming. Seed Junky's Weedmaps page points to Permanent Marker, billed as its strain of the year, plus Gello Shotz, Red Eye, Pineapple Fruz and Lemon Fruz. The brand holds adult-use cultivation and manufacturing licenses.
The Original Z on one side
The Zkittlez parent now goes by a different name. Leafly says the breeders adopted The Original Z in 2023, part of a settlement with a candy company over the old title.
Leafly traces the strain to Gas Station Bob, with Terp Hogz growers Fields and Tony Mendo and Brandon Parker of 3rd Gen Family popularizing it. It took 1st place at the 2016 Emerald Cup and won the 2023 King of Z Hill, with more placements at Cannabis Cups in San Francisco and Michigan.
Leafly classes The Original Z as an indica hybrid. Growers can expect an 8–10 week flower, short to medium plants, spongy green colas and a medium to difficult run.
Animal Cookies BX2 IX on the other
Animal Cookies, also called Animal Crackers, crosses GSC with Fire OG. Leafly lists it as a clone-only strain that flowers in 9–10 weeks, with dense, frosty green buds tipped in purple.
Seed Junky's version carries the BX2 IX tag, marking its own worked line of the Animal Cookies cut rather than the original clone.
That backcrossed parent shows up in a Seed Junky sibling too. Creamy Z is an F2 of The Original Z × Animal Cookies BX2, so both releases pair the same two families from different starting points.
Buds and pre-rolls in Ohio and Michigan
Seed Junky sells Donut Peach as 3.5g of buds. Columbus-area dispensaries in Ohio list it, including Mankind Dispensary at $20.99 on sale from $29.99, A Green Alternative at $31.50 and Leaf Society at $32.
The strain also comes as a Seed Junky pre-roll, carried at Puff in Sturgis, Michigan. The brand describes the effects as fun and uplifting at first, then easing into a relaxed, mellow state.
