Ice Cream Mintz is Seed Junky Genetics' answer to what happens when you send Ice Cream Cake and Kush Mints into the same breeding room: a vanilla-and-cream base cut wide open by a blast of cold mint and diesel funk.
It's an in-house cross, both parents built out of Seed Junky's own dessert and mint lineages, and it shows in the finished flower: dense, golf-ball-tight buds fading toward deep purple, a nose that keeps shifting the longer the jar sits open, and a high that starts bright before it settles into your legs.
Most menus run it as Ice Cream Mintz, though you'll also see Ice Cream Mints or Cream Mintz on the label — same plant, different sticker.
Where It Comes From
Seed Junky Genetics bred Ice Cream Mintz by crossing two of its own lines rather than reaching outside the family: Ice Cream Cake, which carries Wedding Cake and Gelato #33 further back in the pedigree, and Kush Mints, the mint-forward cut that has become one of the most-used building blocks in modern hybrid breeding.
Dessert-and-mint names get recycled hard across the market, so confirm Seed Junky lineage before assuming two jars labeled "ice cream mints" are the same plant — a separate, unrelated version exists from other growers working off 33 Flavors and Larrycake.
The Cross
Ice Cream Cake supplies the dough, cream, and vanilla. Kush Mints brings the cold mint, black pepper, and gas. The pairing worked well enough that Ice Cream Mintz has since fathered more than a dozen further crosses, including pairings with Runtz and Jealousy from other breeding programs — a real sign of how much other cultivators wanted this exact combination.
Flower runs dense and compact, pale green with orange pistils and streaks of purple, coated heavy in trichomes. Limonene leads the terpene profile, with caryophyllene, myrcene, and linalool rounding out the mint-and-pepper backbone.
The High Rise Take
Ice Cream Mintz earns its spot for the mint. Plenty of dessert strains chase vanilla and cream, but this is the rare cross that actually delivers the cold, cutting finish the name promises.
