Wedding Crasher is a hybrid from Symbiotic Genetics, created around 2017. Symbiotic crossed the Jungle Boys cut of Wedding Cake with a Purple Punch F2 male, and the name is a nod to the 2005 comedy. Weedmaps also lists it under the plural Wedding Crashers.
It made its competition debut at the 2018 Emerald Cup, placing 18th in the licensed outdoor category.
A Jungle Boys Cake cut and a Budologist male
The mother is Wedding Cake, Seed Junky's Triangle Kush × Animal Mints cross, in the cut circulated by Jungle Boys. Leafly named Wedding Cake its Strain of the Year in 2019, soon after this cross came out.
The father came from a second-generation Purple Punch population bred by Budologist. Purple Punch itself joins Larry OG and Granddaddy Purple, two indica-leaning classics, and Leafly notes its grape candy character and heavy trichome coat.
Symbiotic released Wedding Crasher as regular seeds only, with no feminized version. The breeder describes Wedding Cake's vanilla side meeting Purple Punch's grape, with a mellow, earthy base, a gassy edge and a berry finish.
Stocky structure and violet sugar leaves
Prime Cuts Nursery describes an indica-leaning frame with stocky internodes and heavy lateral branching. Plants reach 120–180 cm indoors and stretch 20–30% after the flip, so topping, low-stress training or a screen helps in short rooms. Dense colas benefit from a trellis.
Most phenotypes finish in 56–63 days, inside a wider 8–10 week window. Seedfinder's breeder entry gives about 70 days, and Weedmaps lists 63–70. Indoor yields run 400–550 g/m², with 550–600 g per plant outdoors.
Color comes out late in flower. When night temperatures drop to 60–65°F in weeks six through eight, the sugar leaves turn deep violet against the trichomes. Prime Cuts advises keeping humidity below 50% from week four, since the tight colas are prone to botrytis.
Seedfinder adds that most phenotypes yield average to high, while Cookies-leaning plants tend to produce less.
Wedding Crasher #18 and other keepers
Growers have kept their own selections from Symbiotic's seeds. The Village holds several Symbiotic keeper phenotypes and calls its Wedding Crasher #18 the most Purple Punch–dominant of the group.
The Village describes #18 as heavier than the original Purple Punch female, with a relaxed, evening character. That lean toward the Punch side contrasts with Leafly's broader profile of the strain.
The strain's popularity climbed from 2019 through 2021. CommCan was among the retailers that carried it, and has since moved it to its retired list.

Leafly calls Wedding Crasher mostly energizing, with users reporting focused, relaxed and happy effects. It holds 4.6 stars across 358 ratings there, with THC listed at 21%.
Weedmaps lists 22–26% THC and describes an uplifted, social start that settles into physical relaxation without heavy sedation. Prime Cuts gives a wider 18–25% range.
Wedding Cake has more than one grape-leaning descendant. Cannarado Genetics took the same mother in another direction with Wedding Pie, crossing it with its Grape Pie male.
