Wizard OG is the OG Kush cut grown by Wizard Trees, the Los Angeles brand behind Zangria. Wizard Trees calls it an uncut take on true OG, with no crossbreeding behind the name, and keeps it on the menu as one of its staple flowers.
It is also a working parent. Wizard Trees crossed Wizard OG with Zangria to make Gas Gimlet, one of the cultivars now sold across its pre-roll line.
An OG Kush cut with Skywalker OG roots
The brand's description on Weedmaps is blunt: straight gas, no frills. The same listing names Chemdog and Lemon Thai as the parents and classes the flower as a hybrid.
Seedfinder traces the cut more narrowly to Skywalker OG, which it describes as a phenotype of OG Kush. It lists Wizard OG as clone-only, grown mostly indica, and uniform across plants with no known phenotype splits. A 2023 review from The Highest Critic lands in the same place, crediting Skywalker OG as the genetics and Wizard Trees as the grower.
Test results and bag appeal
A 3.5g jar of Wizard Trees Wizard OG listed on Weedmaps tested at 26.16% THC and 0.05% CBD. The brand ranks it as high potency, and the listing classes it as indoor flower from the Wizard Trees grow.
The Highest Critic reviewed a Los Angeles batch in April 2023 and scored it 4 out of 5. The reviewer noted buds with the texture of classic OG Kush, packed in a purple oval jar inside a custom box. The flavor ran toward lime and pine over smoky oak.
The same review described a fast onset and a heavy, euphoric high that lasted about two hours. Reported effects on its Weedmaps listing include relaxed, happy, euphoric and focused.
Gas Gimlet and the Zangria connection
Gas Gimlet pairs Wizard OG with Zangria, the Thin Mint × The Original Z hybrid Wizard Trees bred in-house. The brand pitches it as OG gas with a modern edge, and describes bright green buds with prominent calyxes and heavy trichome coverage. Wizard Trees positions Gas Gimlet for nighttime and sells it as single pre-rolls and multi-packs.
Zangria is the brand's go-to partner for new crosses. It also sits behind ZOZA, Limelight, Tea Party, British Delight and Zang Banger. Gas Gimlet is the one that sends the family back to straight OG.
A staple in the Wizard Trees lineup
Wizard Trees works out of Los Angeles and describes its approach as the place where cannabis meets artistry. The brand has collaborated with Deo Farms, Doja Pak and Fiya Farmer, and The Highest Critic credits it with steadily releasing classic cultivars on the West Coast.
Wizard OG is the clearest example of that classic side. Most of the house catalog now runs through Zangria and Black Magic crosses, while Wizard OG stays a single, uncrossed OG cut.
