Where It Comes From
Wizard Trees made the cross in house and frames it as a surprise, which is the honest way to describe a pairing that could easily have collapsed into pure dessert or pure diesel and did neither.
The brand also releases numbered selections. A January 2025 Wizard Trees post identifies "Zangbanger (sherbanger 22 x zangria) #53 bred and selected in house" and calls it the most unique strain in the lineup. A numbered child like #53 is a chosen expression out of the same seed family, not a separate lineage, which is why two retail drops under one name can legitimately land differently.
Both parents were known quantities before the cross existed. Zangria is one of Wizard Trees' signature cultivars, documented as Thin Mint Cookies crossed with the original Z, the Zkittlez cut, and generally listed as indica-leaning. That plant is a large part of why the brand has a house style at all.
Wizard Trees works almost entirely out of its own catalog, and Zang Banger is a clean example: one parent the brand built its name on, the other a widely selected Sherbert-and-diesel cut. Nothing here reaches outside the lane the brand already occupies.
