Xeno is a hybrid bred by Alien Labs, the California brand founded by Ted Lidie. It crosses Z, the candy strain first sold as Zkittlez, with Kush Mints.
Alien Labs sums up the pairing as Z's sweetness with a measure of diesel from Kush Mints, adding up to a taste it compares to Trix cereal. The brand sells Xeno as flower, smalls, pre-rolls, live resin cartridges and live resin disposables.
Alien Labs and the move to its own genetics
Ted Lidie leads Alien Labs, drawing on a background in both cultivation and marketing. According to its brand overview on Weedmaps, the company operated openly in California's legal market while many competitors stayed underground.
Alien Labs first built its name by elevating well-known flower strains. It then shifted toward breeding new exotic cultivars of its own. The brand now operates in California and Arizona and holds a California distributor license.
Its catalog runs from flower and pre-rolls to infused pre-rolls, cured and live resin vapes, solventless concentrates and 510 batteries. Xeno sits there next to house crosses such as Agent X and Alien Mints.
Z meets Kush Mints
Z brings the fruit side. Leafly traces it to a Grape Ape and Grapefruit mix, and the strain took 1st place at the 2016 Emerald Cup. Terphogz, the growers who popularized it, now sell it as The Original Z.
Kush Mints brings the weight. It crosses Animal Mints with Bubba Kush, and Leafly lists it as a balanced hybrid testing around 28% THC. Blue Zushi comes from the same two parents.
On Alien Labs' own page, Xeno is a plain hybrid. Some of its cartridge, disposable and smalls listings call it an indica-dominant hybrid instead.
Dense light-green flower with purple hints
Alien Labs describes Xeno as light green, tight and dense, with wild yellow hairs and slight hints of purple. Its listings name d-limonene, beta-caryophyllene and linalool as the leading terpenes.
Leafly lists Xeno at about 22% THC and puts eighths in the $40–$60 range. Its users most often report feeling sleepy, relaxed and aroused. Alien Labs puts it more simply: a few hits and you drift off into space.
The flower sells for $60 on the Alien Labs store. The live resin disposable holds 500mg and sells for $50. On Weedmaps, a 7g bag of Xeno smalls listed at $73 at a Hemet dispensary.
Xeno #1 and the Agent X cross
Alien Labs kept at least one Xeno plant for breeding. Its Agent X crosses Atomic Apple, itself a Triangle Mints × Apple Fritter hybrid, with a selection listed as Xeno #1.
Leafly's Agent X listing describes light green buds with tangerine pistils and a heavy crystal coat. It tests around 22% THC, with total cannabinoids near 40%.
Xeno has also reached the seed market. Rocket Seeds lists Alien Labs Xeno feminized seeds in 5-, 10- and 25-seed packs, with an 8–9 week flowering time and indoor yields of 400–500 g/m².
That makes Xeno both a finished Alien Labs strain and a parent inside the brand's own program. The Z × Kush Mints cross carries forward through the Xeno #1 cut.
