California Artisanal Medicine, better known as CAM, is Anna Willey's woman-owned indoor cultivation company in Sacramento. It grows under more than 5,500 lights, according to a February 2026 California Leaf profile, and sells jarred flower, 1-gram pre-rolls, vapes and rosin gummies through California dispensaries and its own delivery service.
Super Silver Haze took the Golden Bear for indoor flower at the 2025 California Cannabis Awards. The September 2026 demo calendar sends CAM ambassadors to dispensaries from Long Beach to Vallejo.
From South Broadway to a Sacramento warehouse
Willey was born in India, grew up in New York and arrived in Colorado in 1998, according to Jimi Devine's 2023 High Times cover story. Before cannabis she worked as a software engineer for IBM and Computer Associates. She learned to grow from a Fort Collins cultivator, working early with DJ Short's Blueberry and Fort Collins Cough.
In 2009 she opened Colorado Alternative Medicine at 2394 South Broadway in Denver, Westword reported. High Times counted it as the state's third dispensary. Her first licensed grow started at 30 lights and scaled past 1,100 across three warehouses. She eventually sold the Colorado grow and license, moved west and rebuilt under a new name that kept the CAM initials.
Five hundred lights to 5,500
The California rebuild started with one 500-light building in Sacramento in December 2018, Willey told Salwa Ibrahim's High Class Podcast in August 2023. High Times put that first buildout at eight months. Higher Origins' license tracker shows CAM's first small indoor cultivation license in Sacramento County issued May 30, 2019, and California Leaf says the first products hit the market that year.
Then the count kept climbing. On the August 2023 podcast Willey described almost 2,500 lights, two distribution licenses, two delivery operations and about 300 retail accounts. Westword covered the opening of a 2,000-light Sacramento facility. By October 2024, the company's New York launch announcement cited more than 4,000 flowering lights and more than 400 California retailers.
Tom Bowers' February 2026 California Leaf profile put the number past 5,500 lights in Sacramento, run by a team of more than 200. CAM also converted a 150,000-square-foot former Coors bottling plant in Sacramento into space for packaging, distribution, corporate offices and cultivation. "Focusing on company culture helps build cannabis culture," Willey told the magazine.
Clone-sourced cultivars on a rotating menu
CAM doesn't build its menu around exclusive breeding. Willey told the High Class Podcast that the team keeps pulling cuts from JBZ, Symbiotic and Compound Genetics, then rotates the lineup with the market. The CAM site lists Biscotti BX1, Bubba's Girl, CAM's Runtz, Cherry Markers, Devil Driver, Dosi Kush and Kush Mints in jars and 1-gram pre-rolls.
Earlier hits included Apple Pie, Mystery Machine and La Paleta. High Times reported that Apple Pie began as a take on Apple Fritter vetted by Lumpy's, and that a sample of it turned Cookies into a major account. CAM's own 2022 Sacramento guide calls Cookies the first store to stock CAM in California. For 2026, California Leaf reported nearly 60 new cultivars on the planting schedule, with Cheese, Diesel and Trainwreck lines among them.
Rosin gummies built with Natura
CAM's edible line arrived in November 2023 through Natura, a Sacramento manufacturer that can turn out 110,000 edibles per shift. Natura presses solventless rosin from CAM's small-bud flower on site and sets it into pectin-based, vegan gummies. They come as sugar-coated medallions stamped with the CAM flower logo, at 10mg per piece and 100mg per bag.
Natura head chef Anthony Scuderi put the pitch in one line: "a well-known cultivation company deserves a high-quality rosin edible to match." The CAM site lists seven varieties: Chili Mango, Green Apple, Strawberry Kiwi, Blue Raspberry, Grape, Sour Pineapple and Watermelon.
Rosin is the next extension. California Leaf reported in February 2026 that CAM planned rosin under its own label with hash makers Kalya, Master Makers, ColdFire and Royal Key.
Back to Colorado, then New York
Willey went back to Colorado in May 2023, this time through a licensing deal instead of her own license. The partnership with PharmaCann put CAM into 30 of its stores, the company says. Westword reported that PharmaCann's growers cultivate the genetics in Colorado with Willey consulting. Six cultivars launched as LivWell exclusives: Formula 41, La Paleta, Lemon Cherry Z, Lemon Cherry Gelato, Coal Creek Kush and Permanent Marker.
New York followed on October 24, 2024. Through PharmaCann, Bubba's Girl, Devil Driver, Permanent Marker, Kush Mints and Lemon Cherry Gelato went into Verilife stores and independents including Buffalo Dreams in Buffalo, HUSH in the Bronx, Happy Days on Long Island, Culture House at Herald Square and Royale Flower in Albany. The same announcement listed Illinois among CAM's markets.
Delivery, demos and a Golden Bear
Super Silver Haze won the Golden Bear in indoor flower at the 2025 California Cannabis Awards, held at the California State Fair on July 12, 2025, according to Budist's event recap.
At home, CAM runs its own Sacramento delivery service seven days a week, 10 AM to 8 PM, under non-storefront retail license C9-0000074-LIC. The Department of Cannabis Control lists that license as active for adult-use and medicinal sales. Higher Origins' tracker, updated September 16, 2026, shows five more small indoor cultivation licenses and a nursery license issued in March 2026, plus two distributor licenses. The original cultivation license names Willey and Robert Dubar as owners.
CAM also works the sales floor. Its September 2026 demo calendar lists brand ambassadors at Catalyst Cannabis in Hemet, Moreno Valley and Pomona on September 2, a STIIIZY grand opening in Vallejo on September 5 and a Perfect Union grand opening in San Jose on September 16. The calendar lists The Cake House in Encinitas and Point Loma on September 26, 2026. Merch sells separately through CAM Supply Co., whose 2026 catalog includes CAMSTAR tees and a CAM Alumni Tee.
