At a glance

CRU Cannabis is a California cannabis brand created by Falcon Brands in 2018. It focuses on indoor flower, pre-rolls and inhalable or extract formats, with Grand CRU as an upper-tier sub-line.

Parent company and origin

Falcon Brands says it created CRU in 2018 and includes it in a portfolio with Grand CRU, High Garden, Jetpacks, Littles and Zip. Falcon describes itself as a California producer and house of brands.

Flower and genetics

CRU’s core product is strain-specific indoor flower in 3.5-gram jars. Falcon says the program draws from a library of more than 100 genetics, while the CRU site describes a rotating menu. That is a first-party scale claim, not a permanent list of 100 retail products. Batch availability, cannabinoid results and the licensed cultivator shown on the package remain the controlling facts for a purchase.

Pre-rolls and infusions

The catalog includes half-gram flower pre-rolls and one-gram infused pre-rolls combining indoor flower with concentrates and added terpenes. Grand CRU 40 is a separate infused half-gram line.

Vapes, oil and hardware

CRU also lists 0.75-milliliter 510 cartridges, half-milliliter rechargeable disposables, adjustable-voltage 510 batteries and one-gram full-spectrum oil syringes. The cartridge and disposable pages describe terpene-infused distillate rather than single-source live resin. Full-spectrum oil is a distinct extract format, and its darker color is not by itself evidence of either contamination or superior quality.

What Grand CRU means

Grand CRU is the brand’s selected flower tier, marketed around top buds from a narrower genetics set and paired with the Grand CRU 40 infused pre-roll. It is a product-positioning distinction inside Falcon’s CRU family, not a separate dispensary company. The wine terminology is branding and should not be mistaken for a regulated cannabis grade.

Licensing and distribution

The current CRU site displays California distribution license C11-0000127-LIC and directs customer service to Falcon Brands. Falcon reported in 2024 that its portfolio used Nabis for logistics and that Falcon brands had remained in demand statewide. Falcon separately claims service to more than 500 retailers; that is a portfolio-wide company claim, not proof that every retailer carries CRU.

Stores and availability

No CRU-owned dispensary chain was identified in the reviewed sources. CRU reaches consumers through licensed California retailers and wholesale distribution. The official site does not provide a robust live store directory, so local licensed menus and the package’s license information are more reliable than old promotional posts for confirming current stock.

Awards and press

Falcon calls CRU one of California’s leading brands, but neither the current CRU page nor Falcon’s corporate page publishes a defensible award ledger with event, year, category and product. No trophy claim was added. Notable third-party business coverage instead centers on Falcon’s scale and its April 2024 logistics agreement with Nabis.

Identity and authenticity. The official Instagram handle shown by CRU is @crubrand. Consumers should distinguish that account from similarly named sellers and should purchase regulated cannabis only through licensed retailers.
