Ted's Budz is a Black family-owned cannabis distributor based in Los Angeles, founded by Cornfed Ted and named after his late grandfather. The company says it moves small-batch, top-shelf exotic flower from grassroots growers into more than 300 California shops from Eureka to San Diego, under state distributor license C11-0000610-LIC.
The flower is moving. Headset ranked Ted's Budz No. 50 in California flower for July 2026, a climb of 61 spots, with sales above $100,000 that month and year-over-year growth of 161.5%.
Cornfed Ted, from Omaha to Los Angeles
Cornfed Ted is an Omaha native based in Los Angeles who runs cannabis and music side by side. In an April 2026 Hype Magazine profile, he said he had worked with industry bigwigs and knew how some of them viewed Black folks. So he built the company himself. "A lot of things that have turned into blessings started from me being excluded," he told the magazine.
Ownership is the point. Ted turned down equity partners rather than give up a piece of the company. "I couldn't live with myself if I gave part of it away," he told Hype, adding that everything he had done over the past 15 years was building up to this point. On the music side, he released Ghetto Jazz 2, a 12-track project, and his catalog streams on Spotify and Apple Music.
A distributor built around grassroots growers
Ted's Budz works as an umbrella for other people's flower. The company says it supplies the market with legitimate genetics from grassroots cultivators, whom it calls the pioneers of the exotic weed game. Its about page describes a tight-knit, family-run crew and a holistic family atmosphere that runs from cultivators to the crew, retail and the end consumer.

The company's strain page lists Crawdads, Red Snapper, Black Fish, Blue Mahi, Rainbow Trout, King Neptune and Spicy Shrimp Girl, next to Torta Pounder, Duck Fat Fries, Turkey Legs, Neck Bones and Uncrustablez. Ted's OG, Ted Penguin, Lieutenant Duntz, Blue Nukes, Juggernaut and Reefer Truck round it out.
The homepage headlines Gumdumz LE, a Bubblegum Cookies and Blue Sherb cross. On Weedmaps, Ted's Budz lists eighths such as Lord Freeza, Grand National Chronicles, Cactus Cooler, Blue Mahi and Incredible Ted, plus a one-gram Hawaiian Jelly Roll cartridge. The about page also lists an Orange Flame Award from Nothing But Fire for Duck Sauce.
Princess Plug with Chocc
The headline collaboration is Princess Plug, launched with Cori Broadus, better known as Chocc. Weedmaps lists a Princess Plug Mellow Berry eighth, and a Mellow Berry eighth led Headset's Ted's Budz product chart for July 2026, ahead of Tuna Belly and Crunch Berries.
The merch side runs through Teds Budz Goods, a store operating under the Lafayette Creations name. Its about page logs Cornfed Ted's podcast rounds on First Smoke of the Day, Good Pizza Podcast, Lasagna Ganja Podcast, Green Rush Nation and Cannabis Talk 101, plus appearances on Sway's Universe and MackwopTV. The company site lists coverage in High Times, Leafly, LA Weekly, SF Weekly and Honeysuckle Magazine.
Ted Fest in downtown LA
Ted Fest takes the brand off the shelf and onto a stage. The 2025 edition ran August 31, 2025, from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. at 1005 Mateo Street in downtown Los Angeles, with sets from Smoke DZA, G Perico, B-Legit and Cornfed Ted. Honeysuckle Magazine covered meet-and-greets with the artists, product box releases, merch drops, food trucks and DJ sets, plus VIP tickets with early entry, gift boxes and private lounges.
The 2026 edition landed on August 29, 2026, in downtown LA. The event site's program listed Ted's Budz drops, an art gallery, food trucks, a DJ and exclusive merch releases, and the site has since posted a Ted Fest 2027 teaser.
Where Ted's Budz sells in 2026
Headset counted 44 licensed California dispensaries stocking Ted's Budz in July 2026, across 63 SKUs. Flower made up 99.03% of those sales, and vape pens covered the other 0.97%. The company puts its own reach at more than 300 shops.
The Weedmaps retailer list includes Jungle Boys in San Diego and Pomona, Cookies Mission Valley and The Cake House in El Monte. Three Wellgreens stores in Vista, Mission Valley and Kearny Mesa carry it too, along with Backpack Boyz and Higher Ground in San Bernardino, PACKS in the San Gabriel Valley, Evergreen OC, Budology, Plant Galaxy, The Green Chamber and R2H Dispensary.
