At a glance
Vessel is a premium cannabis-consumption hardware brand known for 510-thread cartridge batteries and dry-herb devices. Founded in California by James Choe, it built its identity around industrial design, airflow and materials rather than cannabis oil. Vessel sells accessories; it does not manufacture the regulated contents of a cartridge.
Founder and launch
SEC filings date Vessel Brand, Inc. to 2018, while later company materials describe a 2017 founding period. James Choe served as founder and CEO, with Jessie Casner leading marketing. The one-year discrepancy reflects different corporate and brand timelines and is preserved rather than forced into a false single date.
Flora Growth acquisition
Flora Growth acquired 100% of Vessel on November 12, 2021 for reported total consideration of $28.7 million, comprising cash and shares. Choe later joined Flora as chief strategy officer. The transaction made Vessel part of Flora's house-of-brands portfolio, while the consumer-facing Vessel identity continued.
Current product families
The live catalog includes Compass and Compass Rise compact batteries, Core pen-style batteries, Wood and Craftsman designs, plus dry-herb devices and cases, chargers and stands. Models use different batteries, voltage ranges, charge systems and cartridge clearances. Compatibility must be checked against the exact product page.
Design and technology
Vessel emphasizes tuned airflow, protected cartridge geometry, variable power and material finishes such as anodized aluminum and wood. The Wood Series lists four voltage settings from 2.4 to 3.6 volts and a 240 mAh rechargeable battery. Those specifications are model-specific; newer Compass products should not inherit them by assumption.
Compatibility and intended use
The site says its 510-thread products are not intended for nicotine, e-juice or e-liquids and restricts U.S. purchase to adults 21 and older. A compatible thread does not guarantee fit, safe viscosity or cartridge quality. Only use legal, tested cartridges from licensed sources and follow both hardware and oil instructions.
Support and ownership
Vessel offers direct sales, rewards, support, warranty information and replacement accessories. Flora's 2022 reporting credited Vessel with contributing to its house-of-brands revenue, but that figure is historical and not a stand-alone current financial result. The support site is the best source for warranty and troubleshooting terms.
