A third-place finish in Michigan's non-solvent category
High Times published the 2023 People's Choice results on July 11, 2023. It was the fourth year of the Michigan People's Choice format, and the event ran 21 categories split between medical and adult-use entries.
The non-solvent concentrate podium was stacked with rosin. Pressure Pack x North Coast won with Blue Zorbet Hash Rosin. LightSky Farms placed second with Grape Breath Live Rosin. Society C's Pastries Live Rosin rounded out the top three.
Pastries was not the brand's only placement that year. Society C also won adult-use indica flower with Spritzer and took third in adult-use hybrid flower with Cap Junky. That gave one Orion Township operation podium finishes in both flower and solventless categories at the same event.
Water, ice, heat and pressure
Society C makes Pastries without hydrocarbon or alcohol solvents. The company lists just four inputs for the process: water, ice, heat and pressure. Nothing else goes into the jar, which is what places Pastries in the solventless column of the Society C menu.
The product name spells out the category in full. Society C lists it as Pastries Live Hash Rosin Badder, and High Times recorded the 2023 entry as Pastries Live Rosin.
Badder is the finished texture. It is soft and whipped rather than glassy, and Society C sells Pastries in a 1g jar. The company describes the result as an ultra-clean, high-potency concentrate made for connoisseurs.
Single-source flower from one Orion Township facility
Society C runs cultivation and processing from its headquarters at 4601 Liberty Drive in Orion Township. Its parent company is Natrabis. The brand grows its flower indoors and serves dispensaries across Michigan with flower, vapes and concentrates.
For Pastries, the input comes straight from that grow. Society C says it chooses top-shelf phenotypes for potency, flavor and effect, and it single-sources the flower that goes into the concentrate.
One team handles the plant from grow room to jar. The cultivar selection and the extraction both trace back to a single Michigan facility, the same site that produced the brand's award-winning flower entries in 2023.

Platinum Cake live hash rosin badder and Society C's Gummiez badder go through the same wash-and-press process with different genetics. The brand's solvent side is separate: live resin badder, including 14g Baller Bucket jars of Pink Champagne, Smacks, Lemon Poundcake and Miami Vice.
A brand with hardware beyond one podium
Society C calls itself a two-time High Times People's Choice winner, with wins in 2022 and 2023. Its homepage also lists bronze and silver medals from the 2024 Michigan Cup.
At the Best in Grass awards, the brand took first place in hybrid flower with Gastro Pop, along with first place in vapes and second place in sativa flower. Pastries sits alongside those results as the brand's podium entry in solventless concentrates.
