Platinum Cake is In House Genetics' cross of Wedding Cake and The Platinum, and it reads considerably heavier than the dessert name suggests — woody, earthy, and pine-forward.

How It's Made
Live hash rosin badder describes three sequential steps. Ice-water hash is washed from fresh-frozen material. That hash is pressed with heat and pressure into rosin. The rosin is then agitated through a cold cure until it sets opaque and spreadable as badder.
No hydrocarbon solvent touches any stage. Live means the input was frozen at or near harvest rather than dried and cured first, which is where the brighter top end of a solventless press comes from.
Badder is only the finishing texture at the end of that chain. It says nothing on its own about how the material started, which is why the words in front of it carry the weight.
Who Makes It
Society C launched in 2019 under Natrabis, founded by Nick Simpson, Ben Puraj, and Michael Thomas, three Michigan caregiver-market veterans. Their Orion Township facility opened in 2021 at 54,000 square feet, running nine flowering rooms and producing roughly 450 pounds a week, with an on-site lab for concentrates.
The solventless line is pressed from single-sourced flower, which is the part that matters here — one cultivar in, one cultivar out, no blending to hit a volume target.
In House Genetics bred the source plant: Wedding Cake crossed with The Platinum. The Wedding Cake side is Seed Junky's, a selected phenotype of Triangle Mints #23. Versions have also been released by Reverse Genetics and Days Cannabis.
What comes through the press is woody and earthy with pine and kush underneath it, indica-leaning and heavy enough that most people keep it late in the day.
Where To Find It
This is a Michigan product, sold in badder form out of Society C's own lab rather than through a co-packer. The brand's cup record sits with Spritzer, first in Adult Use Indica Flower, and Pastries, third in Non-Solvent Concentrates, at the 2023 High Times Cannabis Cup Michigan, with further 2024 placements for El Chivo and Count Chunkula.
Watch the name on the label. Platinum Cake is a different plant from Platinum Kush Cake out of Days Cannabis, and it also circulates as Platinum Cheese Cake or Platinum Cheesecake on some menus.
