Kookie Dough is Bosky Genetics' cross of its own Kookieland with Gelato #33. It grows as a stout plant that stacks dense, golf-ball-shaped buds with a tight finish, and retail photos consistently show compact green-to-purple flower with warm pistils and heavy trichome coverage.
The K spelling ties it back to the Kookieland parent, and it is not decorative. Cookie Dough, Cookies Gelato and similar names on menus describe unrelated genetics.
Where It Comes From
The story here is really Kookieland's, and it is documented in unusual detail. Kookieland is Dosidos crossed with King Kandy, with King Kandy itself being Forum Cookies crossed with Candyland. It was first bred in 2015 from a male hand-selected out of seeds supplied by San Diego's S.D. Cookie Jar.
Bosky took the line to F2 in 2018 and has since locked it to F3 in house. Kookie Dough is what happened when that decade of in-house work met Gelato #33. Bosky bred and selected it internally, which makes the company both breeder and original cultivator for the documented release — a cleaner provenance chain than most modern dessert crosses can show.
The Cross
The published cross is Kookieland x Gelato #33. The Kookieland side is Cookies-era in the most literal sense: Forum Cookies through King Kandy on one half, Dosidos on the other. That is the grounding element, and it carries the fuel and the funk.
Gelato #33, nicknamed Larry Bird, came out of Cookie Fam's early-2010s hunt crossing Sunset Sherbet over Thin Mint Girl Scout Cookies, with Mr. Sherbinski pulling the thirty-third phenotype from the population. It brings cream, color and resin density. One parent supplies gas and funk, the other supplies dessert and structure.
Freshness matters more here than on heavier, funk-dominant flower. Heat, light and air strip the volatile sweet and gassy fractions well before the earthier base fades, so a recent package date is worth paying for.
What It Left Behind
Kookie Dough has no competition record. Its documented significance is breeding provenance: a cross out of a line Bosky has selected and stabilized since 2015, released by the same house that made it.
One California retail listing has posted a batch panel near 28 percent THC. That is one batch from one harvest, not a property of the cultivar.
