Phantom X

Type: indica

Phantom X is a Maven Genetics indica built from Kush Mints, Ghost OG and Black Diamond X. Maven calls it a potent cross of the three and puts it sweet, skunky, creamy and peppery all at once.

Where It Comes From

Phantom X comes out of Maven's California indoor program, where the brand builds most of its catalog around house selections rather than outside cuts. Black Diamond X, Maven's own line, is doing the structural work here, with Kush Mints and Ghost OG layered on top for character and OG backbone.

Worth knowing before you go looking: Phantom X does not appear in Maven's current strain library. It has circulated as branded flower and in pre-roll multipacks, including a Vantablack x Phantom X five-pack.

Treat it as a rotational release rather than a permanent fixture. That is not a knock — plenty of good cuts move through a catalog on a cycle — but it does mean availability comes and goes, and a jar in front of you now may not be replaceable next month.

The Cross

Maven Genetics gets both breeder and brand credit. The cross is Kush Mints, Ghost OG and, in Maven's own words, "our own Black Diamond X." Maven classifies the result as indica.

Kush Mints brings the mint-and-dough side. Ghost OG supplies OG-family fuel and earth. Black Diamond X contributes density and color, and it is the reason the flower looks the way it does more than the reason it reads the way it does.

The combination is the whole point of the cross: cookie-adjacent cream off the Mints side, gas and pepper off the OG side, and a musky base sitting underneath both. Three-parent crosses often muddy into nothing in particular. This one keeps its edges.

Maven describes the buds as dense and colorful. Expression shifts with phenotype, environment, harvest timing, cure and storage, so bag appeal on one drop will not predict the next — judge the jar in your hand, not the last one you bought.

One practical detail carries to the shelf: nothing about this cut is standardized between drops. Phenotype, method and batch chemistry all move the result, so two jars under the same name will not read identically.

What It Left Behind

Its footprint is commercial rather than competitive: California dispensary and delivery menus, Maven-branded eighths, and pre-roll collaborations with other Maven cuts. No cup, no category, no year.

Independent coverage is thin. For a rotational release from a vertically integrated brand, that is normal — the flower moves through Maven's own channels and never needed an outside write-up to find people.

The High Rise Take

Phantom X is Maven's three-parent indica — Kush Mints, Ghost OG and its house Black Diamond X — built on sweet skunk, cream and pepper. It is a rotational release, so availability moves with the drop rather than sitting on the menu year-round.
