Wild OG is a hybrid seed line from Jungle Boys, the Los Angeles cultivators, made by crossing Perfect OG with Jungle Cake. Jungle Boys sells it as regular seed in 10-seed packs, with the cross listed on the brand's Weedmaps product page.
Regular seed means the pack holds both male and female plants. Growers get a population to hunt through rather than a single finished clone, which is how Jungle Boys has worked from the start.
Jungle Cake and the WiFi #43 connection
Jungle Cake is the modern half of the cross. Leafly lists it as White Fire #43 crossed with Wedding Cake and credits the pairing to Seed Junky Genetics. Cannabis Now's 2018 profile called it the crew's own Jungle Cake strain and used it as the bar a promising new find was measured against.
White Fire #43, also sold as WiFi 43, runs back to OG Raskal's White Fire OG. Leafly says TLC Collective in Los Angeles picked phenotype #43 as the standout from a lot of more than 500 White Fire OG seeds. Leafly lists it as an indica with very dense flowers.
OG Raskal is part of the Jungle Boys story too. Ivan met him and Capulator on early cultivation forums, and told Cannabis Now they were still friends years later.
Perfect OG on the other side
Perfect OG supplies the OG half of the cross. On the Jungle Cake side, the White Fire #43 grandparent adds more OG ancestry through White Fire OG. Wild OG therefore carries OG genetics down both parents, balanced by the Wedding Cake grandparent.
Leafly reviewers describe Jungle Cake as mostly energizing, talkative and giggly, though some reviewers found it heavy. Its flavor runs sweet and spicy with a diesel edge. Leafly records an average around 21% THC for Jungle Cake, with some samples above 27%.
From garage grows to a 500-cultivar library
Jungle Boys began in the early 2000s with small garage grows in Southern California, according to Cannabis Now. Ivan later opened Nature's Green Cure, a 100-light operation in Santa Fe Springs. In 2013 the crew took over Toluca Lake Collective in Los Angeles, which Leafly calls the first official Jungle Boys dispensary.
Leafly names two breeders behind the brand, Ivan from the San Gabriel Valley and Juice from Los Angeles, working together since 2006. Both had separate grows raided before they joined forces. The operation stayed family-run, with relatives managing the store, the cultivation and the clothing line.
The team runs every breeding project in-house, including pheno selection and tissue culture testing. Its genetics library holds more than 500 rare cultivars. Cannabis Now described a philosophy of small craft rooms and small batches, keeping high-profile phenotypes even when they yield less.
A seed line from a pheno-hunting crew
Pheno hunting built the Jungle Boys name. Cannabis Now wrote that WiFi #43 became one of the more popular cuts of the decade after Ivan popped a thousand seeds. In 2018 the newest hype plant in the rooms was Wedding Pie, alongside Gelato, Sundae Driver and Strawberry Shortcake.
Wild OG hands that process to growers. A 10-pack of regular Perfect OG × Jungle Cake seed gives room to select a keeper that leans toward the OG side, the cake side or a mix of the two.
The brand has also grown past California. Jungle Boys opened its first Florida dispensary in Ocala in May 2022 and a flagship in Orlando that September, and Leafly counted seven stores in the state in 2023. Its California stores reach Orange County and San Diego.
