Zuzu Berry is a sativa bred and grown by Maven Genetics, the indoor cultivator based in California's San Fernando Valley. Maven crossed its own Yuzu Mac with a numbered selection called Blueberry ZKZ #14, and the cultivar now sits in the sativa column of the company's strain library.
The standout detail is how much blueberry runs through the family. Yuzu Mac itself descends from Blueberry Zkittlez and Blueberry MAC, so both sides of Zuzu Berry carry blueberry-named ancestry.
Yuzu Mac and Blueberry ZKZ #14
Yuzu Mac is one of Maven's own sativas. Weedmaps lists its lineage as Blueberry Zkittlez × Blueberry MAC, and Maven sells it as indoor flower. Weedmaps describes it as a clear-headed, daytime-leaning cultivar, which lines up with the direction Maven took Zuzu Berry.
The second parent, Blueberry ZKZ #14, arrives with a keeper number attached. That number marks the single plant Maven held from a larger Blueberry ZKZ population. Maven pairs the two in every listing for Zuzu Berry, from its strain library to the product pages carried by California delivery services.
Maven's own cultivar page puts the flavor in two parts: the sour citrus of Yuzu Mac against the berry sweetness of the #14 side.

Zuzu Berry is not the only cultivar Maven built on Yuzu Mac. Sour Sangria crosses Yuzu Mac with Pandora, and it sits directly next to Zuzu Berry in the sativa section of the Maven library. Together they show Yuzu Mac working as a breeding parent rather than a one-off release.
That approach matches how Maven works more broadly. The company favors heavy selection over a flood of new crosses, returning to a small set of house parents. XXX OG, Golden Applez and Prizm anchor much of its seed program, with Prizm serving as the newer male behind recent releases.
The sativa side of the library has already produced a trophy. Orange Bellini, a cross of Orange Truffle Soufflé and Peach Creme Gelato, took first place at the 2023 High Times Cannabis Cup SoCal edition. Maven's FKAFL placed second at the same event.
From a closet grow to Valley indoor
Maven Genetics describes its start as a small, closet-grown passion project. It has since grown into a licensed indoor operation in the San Fernando Valley, running double-decker flower rooms and separate teen rooms for plants moving toward flower.
