Chrome Dome is Compound Genetics' cross of Lemonheadz and Eye Candy, released in the Eye Candy Vol. 1 seed drop and later pheno-hunted and grown commercially by Maven Genetics. Sharp lemon zest and grapefruit lead, then syrup, anise and licorice on the inhale. Most people describe a fast, clear, creative opening rather than anything sedating.
Where It Comes From
Compound Genetics built Chrome Dome inside its Eye Candy program — a line of crosses using Eye Candy as the recurring parent, sold in numbered volume drops. Chrome Dome went out in the Vol. 1 release, which places it among the modern Eye Candy hybrids rather than any older strain that happens to share the name.
Maven Genetics picked it up from there. The California brand ran the seeds, selected a phenotype, and moved that cut into its retail catalog, where it now appears as eighths, pre-rolls and cartridges across California dispensaries and delivery.
Keep the two roles straight: Compound created the seed line, Maven chose and grows the branded cut most people actually encounter. Maven files its selection under sativa, which describes the direction of that particular cut rather than the shape of the lineage.
The Cross
Direct genetics: Lemonheadz x Eye Candy. Eye Candy is Compound's own, built from Biscotti and The Menthol. Biscotti brings the gassy dessert weight; The Menthol contributes the minty, herbaceous top note that made it a favorite breeding partner. Together they produce the purple-and-green, trichome-flooded flower the line is known for.
Lemonheadz runs Lemon G into Face Off OG BX1 — Lemon G supplying the piercing lemon-candy terpene, Face Off OG tightening bud structure and shortening flower time.
That parentage lands where you would expect it to. The opening is citrus and cleaner-bright rather than candy-sweet, with grapefruit alongside the lemon and an effervescent, tangy quality through the middle. Syrupy sweetness arrives on the inhale before anise and licorice darken the finish. Bright on the front, spiced and slightly medicinal on the back.
On flower, Compound reports green and purple buds with bright magenta highlights, a strong bud-to-leaf ratio, and heavy trichome coverage across the phenotypes it observed. Maven's selected cut follows the same visual direction. Flower time runs 8–9 weeks with average veg.
Where it fits: daytime, a project with a deadline, music, conversation — settings that reward a fast, bright start. Dose, tolerance, format and batch chemistry all move the finished experience, and any potency number printed on a package belongs to that batch alone.

One thing worth flagging at the counter — Chrome Dome S1 versions circulate from third-party sellers. Those are reproductions, not Compound's release, and they should not be treated as the same seed stock.
