Limelight is a hybrid from Wizard Trees, the Los Angeles breeder and grower. It crosses Gelonade with Zangria, the house cultivar that anchors a whole family of Wizard Trees releases.
Limelight's biggest mark came as a parent. Wizard Trees crossed it with Black Magic to make Blacklight, pairing what the company calls two of its top in-house hybrids.
Gelonade and Zangria on each side
Gelonade is a cross of Lemon Tree and Gelato #41. Leafly lists it at about 22% THC and calls it a popular strain in California, with tingly, uplifting effects and mostly energizing reports from reviewers. It holds a 4.4 out of 5 rating across 201 reviews.
Zangria is the Wizard Trees side of the pairing. Leafly credits it to the breeder as a cross of Thin Mint and The Original Z, balanced at 50% sativa and 50% indica with roughly 20% THC. Leafly also lists offspring such as Lobzter.
Put together, the cross joins a Lemon Tree and Gelato #41 hybrid to a Thin Mint and Original Z hybrid. Wizard Trees sums up the flavor as lime mojito and Sprite.
One branch of the Zangria family
Zangria is a recurring parent across the Wizard Trees menu. The company lists Limelight next to Tea Party (Tea Time × Zangria), Jungle Juice (ADL × Zangria), British Delight (Biscotti × Zangria) and Gas Gimlet (Wizard OG × Zangria).
Two more of those crosses are Zoza, which pairs Zoap with Zangria, and Zang Banger, built from Sherbanger and Zangria. Each swaps in a different partner, so Limelight is the Gelonade branch of the same program.
Wizard Trees grows and sells these strains across flower, seeds, vapes and pre-rolls. Its distribution now reaches California, Florida, Arizona, Pennsylvania, New York and Michigan.
Nine weeks to a heavy harvest
Wizard Trees released Limelight as feminized seeds in 6-pack and 3-pack sizes, listed at $250. The company gives it a nine-week flowering time and rates the yield as heavy.
The seed listing frames the Gelonade and Zangria pairing as a deliberate breeding choice built to stay in the catalog. Both pack sizes currently show as sold out, and Limelight still appears on the Wizard Trees pre-roll and flower menus.
For growers, the numbers put Limelight in a practical window. Nine weeks is a standard indoor run, and a heavy yield rating makes it more than a novelty cut kept only for flavor.
Blacklight carries it forward
Blacklight is Limelight crossed with Black Magic, a clone-only Wizard Trees cut. The company pairs the two as a potent, citrus-forward cross, with Black Magic adding weight.
Wizard Trees describes the result as resin-heavy, with an energetic but heavy effect. Black Magic also shows up as a parent in Potion, Voodoo, Orange Magic and Blue Magic, so Blacklight places Limelight inside a second house family.
That gives Limelight two roles in the catalog. It is a finished Gelonade and Zangria hybrid on its own, and it is one half of Blacklight, one of the newer crosses on the Wizard Trees menu.
