Zoza is Wizard Trees doing what Wizard Trees does best: taking two of its own flagship crosses and folding them into one plant. Zoap's soapy, floral funk running straight into Zangria's fruit-forward sweetness.
Dense, purple-streaked buds under heavy trichome coverage, built for the top shelf and priced like it. Bag appeal is part of the pitch here, and it lands before you open the jar.
Where It Comes From
Zoap started outside Wizard Trees. Oakland breeder Deo Farms crossed a Rainbow Sherbert selection with Pink Guava — itself pulled from the OZ Kush project — and Wizard Trees picked up the cut, cultivating it into one of its signature strains.
Zangria came out of a collaboration between Wizard Trees and grower Fiya Farmer, built around the sangria-style fruit the name points at.
Zoza brings both houses together in one plant instead of reaching outside the family. Rather than chase something new, the brand pulled two of its most recognized cultivars together in-house and bet the pairing would read as more than the sum of its parts.
The Cross
Wizard Trees out of Los Angeles is the house behind it, and the cross is Zoap and Zangria — both foundational to its own lineup rather than borrowed from a seedbank.
On the jar the split is legible. Zoap supplies the top note: bright, a little exotic, edging toward guava. Zangria fills in underneath with cookie-dough sweetness and cherry-forward fruit.
Batches lean one way or the other depending on phenotype. A Zoap-heavy plant reads cleaner and more perfumed; a Zangria-heavy one pushes more fruit, more dessert, more funk. Either way the smoke is thick and the flavor holds through the exhale.
Most people find it uplifting first and settling later, and Zangria's side of the family runs heavier on its own — so a bigger serving of Zoza tends to drift that direction too. Start low, and don't drive on it.
What It Left Behind
No competition placement carries the name. Its footprint is what it proves about the house: Wizard Trees' own genetics can carry a cross without borrowing from anyone else.
That matters in a market where most new drops are built on somebody else's cut. Zoap and Zangria each earned their own following first, and Zoza is the brand collecting on that instead of starting over.
The High Rise Take
