The Beast is an 18-inch beaker bong built in borosilicate, with a circ percolator and an ice pinch above it. The beaker base holds a large water reservoir. It lists at $125.
Circ perc and ice pinch working together
A circ percolator sends smoke out through a ring of holes arranged in a circle, spreading bubbles evenly around the chamber rather than concentrating them in one place.
Above it, the ice pinch is a set of indentations in the tube that hold cubes without letting them fall into the water. Smoke passes the ice after it has already been through the water, so it gets a second, colder stage of cooling on the way up.
Why height and a beaker base matter here
Eighteen inches gives smoke a long run to shed heat, and the beaker base holds a wide pool of water that resists being pulled up the tube. Together they let you take a large draw without it turning harsh.
The wide base also does the practical work of keeping a tall piece upright, which is the main risk with a bong this size.
Who it's for
This is a session bong for a table it can live on — built for people who want volume and are willing to give it the space. Borosilicate construction means it tolerates hot smoke and cold rinses without complaint.
For other large glass, the Wish Ball XL runs a matrix perc and the 70s XL Bong takes the retro angle. More on the HEMPER brand page.
Keeping it clean
Percolated glass traps resin where a cloth will never reach. Change the water every couple of sessions, and once a week plug both ends and soak the chamber in isopropyl and coarse salt. Shake in short bursts rather than one long rattle, then rinse with warm rather than hot water so the glass never takes a thermal shock.
