Gizmo Rosin

Brand: Rosin Tech Labs

Type: rosin

Gizmo Rosin comes from Rosin Tech Labs, a company that built rosin presses before it started pressing its own hash.

Who Makes It

Rosin Tech Labs is the maker, and its story runs backwards compared with most concentrate brands. It began as a rosin-press manufacturer — out of a garage in Bethpage, New York, now headquartered in Los Angeles with equipment carried in hundreds of stores — and later opened its own hash production facility in LA, where it makes live rosin, infused flower, rosin vapes, hash nugs, and hash holes.

That order matters. A company selling presses to other extractors has a different relationship to the format than a brand that simply buys its equipment.

The brand of record on retail menus is Rosin Tech Labs. A separate company, Rosin Technologies, makes presses under a similar name and is not connected to this product.

The Cross

At least two unrelated cultivars circulate as Gizmo.

Gizmo OG, from All We Know Is Dank, is recorded as Critters Cookies × Sensiburn OG (F3) — mostly indica, roughly 58 to 65 days, described by the breeder through cookie dough and gas funk with heavy resin and a creeper onset.

Gizmo, from Slanted Farms Seed Company, is a selected phenotype of GMO Cookies F2, which places it in the Chem D × Forum GSC family at around 70 days.

Those two share no parents.

How It's Made

Rosin is pressed with heat and pressure and no hydrocarbon solvent. Hash rosin starts from separated resin rather than whole flower, and live rosin specifically means the input was ice-water hash washed from fresh-frozen material.

This is a cold-cured rosin that has set up rather than a fresh glossy press. Colour is not a grade.

What It Left Behind

Rosin Tech Labs' standing rests on the equipment side of the business at least as much as on the hash side.

The High Rise Take

A press manufacturer pressing its own hash is worth paying attention to. If the Slanted Farms version is what you have, that family runs through GMO Cookies — compare against Punch Extracts' GMO Rosin, or browse the High Rise concentrate library.
