It is also a cultivar whose exact parents the breeder has never fully published, which makes the commonly cited lineage an assumption rather than a confirmation.
Who Makes It
Society C is a Michigan brand launched in 2019 under Natrabis by Nick Simpson, Ben Puraj, and Michael Thomas, all out of the state's caregiver market. Their Orion Township facility opened in 2021 at 54,000 square feet with an on-site processing lab for concentrates and vapes.
Those are different processes. Live resin is a hydrocarbon extraction from fresh-frozen material; live hash rosin uses ice, water, heat, and pressure with no solvent.
The Cross
MAC1 comes from Capulator, dated to 2015, and is a backcross of the original MAC.
The lineage is usually given as Alien Cookies F2 crossed with Miracle 15, where Miracle 15 is Starfighter by a Colombian landrace. Sources are honest that this is the most common assumption rather than a breeder confirmation.
The distribution story is the real point. Capulator restricted MAC1 to growers he selected personally, specifically to control how it came out. It is also known as a demanding plant with medium yields that punishes sloppy work. Both facts are why the name still carries weight.
Collision risk is high: plain MAC, MAC V2, and Cap Junky are all different things.
How It's Made
Live resin means the starting material was frozen at or near harvest rather than dried and cured, then extracted with a hydrocarbon solvent and purged. Freezing preserves volatile compounds that ordinarily degrade during drying, which is the entire argument for the format.
"Live" describes the input, not the texture. A live resin can finish as badder, sauce, diamonds, or crumble depending on what happens after extraction.
